Football Manager 2012 v12.2.1 Patch

Hello there, I'm having some major trouble trying to play this game on my Mac. The last week or so Steam was stuck in offline mode (something which I have now sorted) but now it says It cannot open the application as it is not supported on this type of Mac. I have read a few posts on forums saying that it is incompatible with OS x Lion. Is this true? Does anyone have any suggestions? I am going mad here!

running a network game for older mature players, its a bit cut throat, play on a tuesday 7pm -2am and Friday 7pm - 2am, you dont have to be super just committed and thick skinned. If interested add Barondogmeister on skype and state who you are and that its FM12 related cheers .
