Fix Power Supply, CPU Buzzing on Desktop PC!
This does not apply to laptop users!

Some of you may have encountered this before. When you are operating a computer and it is doing small tasks such as moving windows across a screen, or even playing games or operating software there is a noise. Coming directly from the PC there is a buzzing noise.

Sounds like the buzzing noise is coming from a very small speaker? That isn't the case, it is the powersupply sadely.

Normally you would replace the powersupply in this case if the buzzing sound really bothers you.

I'm not all for that though. I am going to fix this through windows.

Here are the steps to disabling CPU idle which cause the powersupply buzzing.

Found a comment by the user "Raphael França" on a youtube video -> Link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2QyencCA8k

Thank you Raphael França!

1. Execute: "regedit"
2 .Locate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Power \ PowerSettings \ 54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b¬740d00 \ 5d76a2ca-e8c0-402f-a133-215849¬2d58ad
3. Change Attributes from 1 to 0.
4. Then, through the control panel - power - in the settings mode select power management processor. There will be an option disabling idle processor and high pitched noise immediately disappears.

This was his post!

Now I am going to explain the process the best I can. Raphael didn't explain where exactly you were supposed to go in power and what you were supposed to select to fix the issue.

If you understood and completed the post above no need to keep on reading.

1. Open Regedit

2. Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Power \ PowerSettings \ 54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b¬740d00 \ 5d76a2ca-e8c0-402f-a133-215849¬2d58ad"

3. Change the "Attribute" REG_DWORD to 0.

4. Now close Regedit and open control panel.

5. If it says in the above tab "Control Panel > All Control Panel Items" click on "Power Options"

If it only says "Control Panel" then click on "System and Security"
and then click on "Power Options"

6. Once you are in Power Options then click on "Change plan settings"'

7. Now click "Change advanced power settings"

8. Scroll down and expand "Processor power management"

9. Expand "Processor idle disable" and set it to Disable idle

Then you are done! :)

Hope this helps!

After running this tweak for a week or longer then revert the change in the power options again. It should be a temporary fix for the buzzing coming from your power supply.
