Why Denuvo is bad for the consumer
Before you continue further, please keep in mind that the main argument against Denuvo is to ask yourself "what exactly does Denuvo add to my experience as a customer?". If the answer is "nothing", then it's at best bloatware and at worst a virus.
Denuvo can never be removed from your computer as long as you have even one game using it installed.

"Denuvo is the new company formed from a management buyout of the Sony DADC DigitalWorks team, the team that developed best-of-bread copy protection systems like SecuROM for games and Screen Pass for movies." - this is taken from their site.
This is the same company that's known for creating DRM solutions that are almost a rootkit.

All games that use SecuROM became unplayable for Skylake CPU users (when that was the newest CPU from Intel), and for Windows 10 users. Both of these things have been resolved eventually, but there were still several problems with authentication and online requirements while SecuROM was actual.
Denuvo is just an even more intrusive version of it.

Several games still never had SecuROM removed, rendering them unplayable, so these publishers already set a precedence for what's going to happen when Denuvo goes under.
Some other games did have SecuROm removed but it still took them years, during which time the only way to play your bought game was to add a crack to your legit copy.

Denuvo prevents most forms of modding and tweaking that we, as PC gamers, are used to. The modding available in Denuvo games is very limited, compare Total War: Warhammer to something like Medieval 2: Total War for a good example. You will see the former has very basic mods, while the latter has entire overhauls.

Denuvo games require periodic online reactivation, with the lowest reported time being every 24 hours.

There are several examples of Denuvo affecting performance (see Resident Evil Village and Injustice 2). Though this seems to be a matter of how the developers implement it rather than Denuvo itself affecting performance by design.

However, even if Denuvo doesn't affect performance, it does affect loading times, because that's the least intrusive way it's ever implemented, to run during loading screens.

There are also several examples of Denuvo essentially breaking games.
Tekken 7 had several issues because of Denuvo, Sonic Mania wouldn't work because of it. At times all Denuvo games stopped working, though it only happened a few times, because of issues with their servers. Keep in mind the vast majority of games that use Denuvo are singleplayer games.

Denuvo is mainly used to protect anti consumer practices, not to protect against piracy.
For example it's been used a lot in the past for VR games, to block people from using workarounds to play them on a different VR device than it was intended for.

It's also widely used in games that feature a lot of DLCs or microtransactions, again, because that's its purpose, to protect these business practices.

Here I will start collecting various links with Denuvo causing problems for people, so expect this list of links to grow over time.
