[PC][DS1] Are Curved Swords Viable For PVE?
I'm playing my first playthrough of Dark Souls and have been trying a curved sword build. But the thing is, it feels weak. Does the attack speed compensate for the lack of damage?

The only curved swords i find viable in ds1 are the sword of queelag and the greatsword of nito. dont know the names in english tho, sorry. You can watch guides in order to get them :) both weapons +5 deals a lot of damage, and queelag's sword its also viable for pvp. good luck!

Painting Guardian Sword can be really effective in PvE, with cons and pros
+High Dex Scaling (A, close to S)
+Fast attack speed
+Bleeding (but the buildup is slooooow)
+Correct stamina cost
-Shortest reach (almost as short as a dagger)
Take +15 normal upgrade path and combine with weapon buffs, mainly Darkmoon Blade or Sunlight blade

After that, Quelaag's Fury Sword is certainly the best (spoiler: not for Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith)

Falchion is more PvP oriented with the good Bleed buildup

But to be honest, the Scimitar is my personnal favorite. It's not the best weapon but it has decent damage (~390 AR at 40dex +15 twohanded), Good poise damage when two-handed (4 light hit to stagger gargoyle, 1 sprint attack + 2 light hit to stagger Artorias when he buffs). and it might be the only "late game viable" starting weapon. Not a so bad choice for PvE

But Falchion has no bleed on it... And it`s still quiet good for PvE with some buffing.
