How to see or extract the original resources?
Hello everyone!

Since the first patch of Chrono Trigger, we have the option to turn ON/OFF the "Remastered" graphics from the game, so we can play it with the original resources.

However, when extracting all the content with the CT_Explore 1.4, I've searched in every folder, and I have no idea where those resources are, and I can only find the "remastered" resources from the game, along with the character sprites in BMP, but there is no way I can find tilesets or other resources from the SNES version.

Do you know how to find them, or extract them properly? I would like to find a way to do so.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Sorry if this is posted on the wrong forum, I didn't realise there was a subforum for technical support.

Hey I am not 100% sure on what you are looking for exactly, but if you look in Game\chara\png\ there are character sprites in png format. If these are the remastered sprites that you mention then sorry I do not know where the originals are.

What you are perhaps looking for is editing the 8-bit images that are in map_bin (cgxx.bin files). These are what it refers to when you switch to Original in the game. At the moment it is not known how to properly open these files for editing. Adjusting the PNG files is 1000x times easier, unless you want to mess with doing different headers in a hex editor to try to nail down what it is. Also, would need to figure out the pallet for each.
