For those who care to learn about the maps we will play on MONDAYS (FOR THE LAST TIME OFFICAL MATCHES ARE MONDAY, ANYTHING ELSE IS A SCRIM)
I will make demos or show everyone around the map EVERY TUESDAY at 5pm EST

Key things to look out for on Lakeside:
1) Spy can do a lot of damage here. If you see someone out of position, shoot them.....or just shoot everyone not already doing a task. Pyro will be an essential spycheck here, no roaming this time. Also try your best to NEVER walk directly up behind the Medic....that's what Spies do.
2) Scout can flank very easily. He can double jump from the point onto the sniper area. Watch what you're doing as you come out of spawn, because they are known to camp there...and you should camp there as well.
3) DIVING!!! Its raining Soldier! Overheal and give comms to Soldier so he can kill their Medic before they get uber. If nothing else, he can bomb and injure before we have uber/kritz. Demoman is also pretty awesome at diving here, but it should be done more sparingly.
4) Focus down that pesky Sniper! When facing Snipers that dont miss often, you really need to give communication for where they are. This will allow your Spy/Scout/Sniper to really focus them down. Incredibly important if you want your Medic to not get picked off.

2 key points for all maps in HL: If you die to a spy/sniper, call where he is so no one else is an easy target.

Class Roles:
Scout - Flank and flank and flank. Pester the Sniper and give communication as to where their Medic is. This is incredibly important. With this valuable information our Soldier/Demoman can dive him before he gets uber. So frustrating! Cause that frustration for them. If you dont hold mid, then do what you can to take over the house side and push in that side when your team pushes in so you can hopefully get some picks.
Focus: Sniper, Sniper, Comms, Sniper, Comms, Medic

Sniper - Kill everything that you see. Not too complicated (per normal).
Focus: Sniper, Medic, Hwguy

Soldier - Wait for the communication as to where their Medic is. If its close enough, DIVE BOMB!!! This is super effective on this map and can destroy them. If your bombs are not successful, then do a closer float to your Medic and just shoot rockets at their feet to give damage output. Soldier and Demo both doing this can help Scout/Hwguy clean up kills.
Focus: Medic, Spy checking, Scout, Sentries (so Scout can run wherever he wants)

Demo - Get ready for Kritz and spam where necessary. Sticky out of respawn, go middle, then sticky up to the house. This is the fastest rollout and needs to happen every time or you lose house every time. Go directly through house, or go to mid and then swing house, either way its a very strong position to hold early on. Then you can rotate to wherever the fighting is. You can make dives when the Soldier does and make sure the Medic is down. Listen for Medic to call this out or else just stay with him. Sticky house area to block that way from them.
Focus: Be ready for Kritz, Be ready to Dive their Medic, Spam

Medic - Stand out of Sniper fire as much as possible. There really is no "safe" place to stand. Each team will attack differently, so find the spots that they ignore and rotate through areas so they never know exactly where to bomb in. Hiding behind house is good because a soldier HAS to jump from mid in order to get the distance to swing around. Hopefully by then someone calls it out. Another strong one is the complete opposite side and you can use the area under Sniper as a quick getaway to regroup and repush. Call strong pushes. If you run Kritz, make sure the Demoman is alive and reloaded before pushing, Heavy needs to go as well. Watch for Spies dropping down from the Sniper deck.
Focus: Stay alive and pop ubers

Hwguy - Stay with the Medic. Keep your eyes open to Spies and look back as much as you can. If you have mid, stay behind house or in house with Demo/Medic.
Focus: Scout, Spy, Be ready for Pushes

Pyro - Stay with Medic, airblast ubers, flare snipers with flare/detonator. Watch backwards while everyone else watches forward. Stop the Scout/Spy from getting easy picks while the Medic is focused on communication and pushes.
Focus: Spycheck, airblast ubers and stickies, flare sniper

Spy - Stand on their side as much as you can and give comms. Backstab Hwguy as much as you can, but mainly stand over there so your team ALWAYS know where their Medic is. This will allow you to coordinate a dive. So even if the Soldier dies, in that time you can possibly get a solid backstab or kill on someone else and run away.
Focus: Comms first, Hwguy second, Medic third

Engy - Build miniguns in smart spots that can stay alive. If we take mid, put it on mid with a dispenser in a designated spot (basically wherever everyone holds, behind house or near the palm tree). Also get a teleporter up as quickly as possible on your side of house. No more running. And we need comms when this is unsafe to take as well.
Focus: Build and maintain

Lots of us (Subs + Mains) have trouble knowing YOUR specfic role in HL. Depending on the Map and Map type your role will change. However one thing that must remain constant in order to achieve a successful victory is:

Communication between the MEDIC+PYRO,
Keep the side conversations and excessive talking to a minimum,
KEEP YOUR ANGER OFF THE MIC,
Quite and CALM mumble call (IM TALKING TO YOU SHANE+RAGGA+INCI),
Challange yourselves on servers that are not VALVE SERVERS+ Derpy's(Practice on places like STAR_'s Server)


Next, in order to win:
1.) Know the map that we are playing on (If game time comes and you dont know the map that is YOUR fault. I have the match dates and maps on an announcement.
2.) Know what type of map it is :

5cp = Five control points, you cap mid, then their second, then their last and its over. You can't cap a locked CP.

AD = Attack Defend. You spend one part of the round Attacking, and then Defending. Stopwatch is used to see who can cap fastest.

KOTH = King of the Hill. Try and hold the control point for 3 minutes.

PL = Payload. You push a cart until the end where it explodes. Stopwatch
mode enabled to see who can push it the farthest if neither cap.

CTF = Capture the Flag. As the name says, the intent of this is to capture the flag. Be it pulling from their base, or taking a flag to a specific area.

Next, Is know your roles as a class on this map.

Scout
5cp & AD CP - Flank and annoy. Kill who you can, but bait them to our heavy hitters.
Defense: Dont push too hard and die. Just potshot.
Offense: Push in with the team and take out people focused on other people.

KOTH - Stay alive and get behind them as much as possible. If they are watching for you, then just potshot them until you see an opening.

CTF - Be ready to run flags. Dont die needlessly just for a kill. Try and stay up in case your Spy has a chance to sap and you pull it out while he fights Engy. If stuck in your base, just stay alive and ready to move out.

PL- Be smart and stay alive
Defense: Roam and flank. Take out teleporters. Harassment in general is important. This will put them away from the cart.
Offense: Stick on the cart and try hard to keep it moving at all times. If we can keep 3x on it at all times it moves as fast as possible. If the team can get 3x on it without you and you can kill enough to make it worth it, by all means...but make sure someone is on it.

Soldier
All - Work out your plan with the Medic. Generally you will be a roamer that sticks close. Get overheals and jump their Medic if possible. You'll probably be in a zone defense type setup. Help spycheck around the Medic and always be ready to go! Dont push too aggressively unless you plan on sacrificing for a pick. Let the Medic know not to follow you in case you are the pocket at the time.

Pyro
All - Spy check. Airblast ubers back and be ready for them to come in if its called. Stay near the Medic unless you're needed on a CTF back in flagroom.

Demoman
All - You are the secondary pocket. Stay with your Medic at all times. You will have kritz popped on you for pushes, and also uber popped to get guns. If an uber is popped on the Hwguy, stay behind them and let them tank the damage. This should allow you to get the gun. If the HWguy keeps going, the Medic should switch the uber over to you so you can focus it down. Put smart traps up when necessary and spam spots as much as ammo allows.

Hwguy
All - Stay with Medic at all times. If he dies and you dont, meet him half way to spawn with GRU out (to help build uber early). Push when he calls the push. Dont be aggressive or push out without him. Its very easy to die as Hwguy in HL.

Engy
5cp & KOTH - Get good teleporters up and a dispenser in a good place. SG type will differ depending on the place in the map you are. Generally lvl3 is only on last point defense. Otherwise mini sentries all over are amazing. Wrangle them and be quick about getting another one up. The guns also function as a flank deterrent for Spy/Scout. They will focus on you instead of killing people. Smart

CP AD- Teleporters and dispensers are needed for both, the only difference is what gun to use.
Defense: lvl3 generally, but sometimes a mini sentry can be just as hard to deal with and annoying.
Offense: mini sentry in spots that wont allow flank.

PL - Teleporters are almost as important as a good gun spot on O. On D its all about a solid gun spot and wrangle timing. Dont wrangle unless its being shot at (since you dont have better aim than AA) and needing that shield. Put up wrangle right before you die as well if its going to go down anyways, this will give it at least another 2 or 3 seconds that the team focuses on killing it.
Defense: Have designated spots you know are strong and get back to them early enough to get setup. Listen to your team to know if you can build where you want or if you should go ahead and fall back.
Offense: Try and stay with the cart as much as possible once you have a gun put up. This can be put slightly behind to stop a flank, or put slightly ahead so it will hold them off from an easy push back on you. Always keep a teleporter up and available. This can mean a win if it gets the team in place fast enough.

Medic
All - Call smart pushes, pull back when necessary. Regroup and get the ball rolling. Pocket the hwguy/demo and if necessary the Soldier. But always have one. if you dont, fall back. Pop ubers early if you have to. You should never drop an uber except to a Sniper that wasnt called out, or a Spy.

Sniper
All - Go for key targets as you can hit them. Listen for calls of Sniper/Spy/Medic so you can pick them off. Hwguy is also a key pick since it will stop most pushes or holds.

Spy
All - Call the other team's uber % and other comms as to where they are if asked. Make pushes in with Scout to pull out a flag in CTF. Otherwise go for backstabs on key targets and be ready for a timed push on a sapped gun.

Both leaders are offline unless i have further notice the scrim is cancled
