Question on how to make a hat for multiple classes?
Yeah as the topic states, now that I got the basics on how to make a hat that fits one class, how do I make a hat that fits with multiple classes...

The difficulty I see is rigging the hat up for the different heights of each character and modifying the shape of the hat to fit their unique heads.

The idea I have for a multiclass hat won't be too much of a problem with fitting as it will be the rigging so that it is at the right location for each character. So If it's a lengthy explaination you could just focus on the rigging/ file setup aspect...

Export 9 .smd files corresponding to your hat model for each class. Each character has the bip_head bone at a different height, so you'll need to import each character into a fresh scene each time (also make sure to import your hat as well). I each blend file, position/modify your hat accordingly and then export each smd file. When you are ready, open TF2 and using the new beta importer, import your hat for each class (click scout > import model > import textures > click soldier > import model > import textures > etc.).

When you hit preview, you will be able to choose among different classes to see your model.
