Some questions about weapons
i'm working on a model of a weapon for the scout, but in the beta importer you can only import hats and misc. Should i import it as misc? or how i'm suposed to import it?

Another question, if i'm not wrong, the polycount limit on weapons is higer than hats, right?

You can't import weapons. Valve doesn't want weapons, so don't submit them. Basically it takes so much more time to come up with a new gameplay mechanic (that is balanced) and code it than it does to just ship a new hat/misc into the game.

Valve might add weapon support for the new importer in the future, but it's highly unlikely.
But there are weapons in the workshop :S

and, it wouldn't be difficult imo, since the model i was making was suposed to have the same stats as the boston basher (it's a cactus)

but well, i'll stick to hat macking.

If you notice, none of those weapons are gold-starred. And if they are, then 1) it's breaking Valve's rules and 2) they don't have necessary things like physics models that you normally need when making weapons. I wouldn't waste my time making weapons if I were you; as much as I love making them myself (most of my submissions pre-beta-import were weapons), Valve seems to not want them.

yeah, none of them have the golden star. By the way, i posted this when i was almost finishing the model for the weapon, so i'm kinda dissapointed. but, on the bright side, the cactus baseball bate made me think about making a pyro hat, so it isn't everything bad!
