Source SDK Model Viewer
I put all of the txt info in the gameinfo folder, tf2's configuration is in the right place, but when I start up Model Viewer, it says, "Unable to load manifest file: scripts/game_sounds_manifest.txt." What's going on? ;_;

The SDK no longer works (it has been glitched for months).

Use the "new" TF2 SDK:

-Navigate to your /Steam/SteamApps/common/Team Fortress 2/bin/ folder
-Find the batch file titled "hlmv.bat" and open this file
-Voila! TF2-specific source SDK that should work

Wait, do I use the half-life model viewer that's a batch file or an application? The batch file just opens a command line and crashes, but the application can't load my models.

The batch file is what you want. It should run the command prompt for a bit and then open the hlmv after. I'm not sure why it crashed in your case...

So this is interesting... I just tested it myself. I have the same problem. I guess the batch file doesn't work anymore. However, the actual hlmv.exe program works. Load that up, then go to file > (Steam) Load model > load your model. It should work.

How do I load models? I can't find my Tf2 workshop folder. Do I need to take my item and put it into wherever it gets its files?

If you are using the in-game compiler (which you should be using), then it will automatically compile your model in the \tf\models\workshop\player\items\ folder. So when you go to (Steam) Load model, find that folder.

Wait, the in-game compiler? Is that the importer?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Wait, so to compile my item, all I do is put the files in the importer? But how do I actually compile it? Does it do it while I'm using it?
