How do i add physics/gravity (such as a rope)?
I want to add physics to a weapon i'm creating for DOTA (a chain or rope hanging from a part of it). How do i do this?

You can't. It will have to be animated which Valve will do if it's accepted.

Oh right. So what do i do for submission? Do i just add the rope/chain as a static part of the weapon model and write in the description that it would have physics?

Yeah. The same goes for effects. For the time being, you're gonna have to ask Valve to do custom particle effects until they add support for it.

I see. Well thanks for your help. Your videos on TF2 and DOTA modelling taught me how to do it from the ground up over this last week from having zero experience so thanks a lot for them both; i really appreciate it.
