Preferred settings for FBX Export
Currently trying to pin down what I actually need in my FBX for the workshop compiler to play nice. Using the SMD package from the official tech requirements, I've imported to blender, done some work and attempted to export back to workshop. Erratically the mesh compiled will be fine or broken, but always compiles. So I was hoping for some advice on what exactly is necessary for the fbx. I'm currently parenting the new mesh to the skeleton included in one of the smds. As shown here[imgur.com].

To try and see what what going on from another angle, I opened the official maya scene, seen here[imgur.com], and imported the fbx I exported from blender, seen here[imgur.com].

As you can see, the imported fbx radically distorts the original armature. Sometimes there is no problem, so I know it's because of some setting I'm screwing up, or how I'm arranging my objects. I'm about 80% sure it's how I'm arranging my axes on import/export. I import with Y as the up axis and I thought I was compensating for that adjustment with my forward/up on export. Apparently that's not correct or I'm overcorrecting.
