[HELP] GameCube Controller, Input Mod DLL won't load (unsolved)
I did everything right, I put the text file in the ini and everything... Playing it with something other than the Gamecube controller just won't feel right. I should've known better than to assume the controls for it would work. Why do PC games have to make this so difficult?

Install visual c++ 2015
Normally the BetterSADX patch does then when you install it but something on your computer must've denied it permission to install it.

Most PC users don't play with a gamecube controller by the way. Most use any one of the several hundred xinput controllers out there. Usually an Xbox brand one.

I have an XBox 360 controller for Windows that I got to play Generations, so I ended up playing the entire game with that. Wish I had an analog stick that wasn't so sensitive, I'm much better at controlling the game with the Gamecube controller, the one I ALWAYS played SA1 with. I don't know what visual c++ 2015 is, where I get it, or how I install it, all that matters is that it's too late and I already played most of the game that I wanted to play with a different controller. The game's fantastic, I love the mods, I just wish I had an analog stick that I didn't have to be really careful about using for precise movement.

Didn't work. " The following mods failed to load correctly; Input Mod: DLL error - The specified module could not be found. " Even though I downloaded exactly what you said and even put it in the same folder as the Input Mod.

Hello? Anyone? Still can't play it with a good analog stick. I even chose Repair in the Visual C++ thing and it did absolutely nothing. You know, when I joined this group, I thought the people here would be more helpful, nicer, you know, especially since SA1's so underrated these days and you'd think they'd be nicer to fellow fans of the game. So far I haven't gotten any help from the group at all, which sucks 'cause I was really looking forward to talking to other fans of the game avbout it and stuff. Ah , well.

I'd offer more help but all this looks like to me is that one of the necessary dependencies is missing. Could you provide a screenshot of the error maybe?
CrystalMaiden772 Jan 19, 2017 @ 3:49am
I have no idea how to provide a screenshot. I right-clicked in this dialogue box and it didn't have a Paste option, so even though I made a screenshot, I don't know how to show it. The error I'm getting is, " The following mods didn't load correctly: Input Mod: DLL error - The specified module cannot be found. " I'm really glad you responded! Do you know what the problem might be? 'Cause I don't know what the word module means in this context, and stuff...

I can play with a Gamecube controller just fine on the vanilla version of the game... But installing BetterSADX, as of today, makes the game crash before even reaching the Sega logo. You know, at this rate, I'd rather play the vanilla version.

It turns out the game only crashes at start-up when I start it up with my Mayflash plugged in. So I still can't play BetterSADX with a Gamecube controller, but at least now I can play it at all.

Well, I have COMPLETELY GIVEN UP. I bought an officail Super Smash Bros Wii U Adapter, which plugs into my USB Hub just fine. Used a Gamecube Controller in it, and no matter what slot the controller was plugged into, it didn't work. I tried using third party software with that called GCNUSBFeeder.exe, and it clearly detected my Gamecube Controller being plugged in, but it still didn't work. I've tried literally everything. I'm not even getting the Input DLL error anymore, the Gamecube controllers just don't get recognized! Something about " Better " SADX destroys the game's Gamecube controller compatibility. Guess I'm sticking to the Gamecube version. Whatever.

Honestly, I have no idea- and I can't really check either because I don't actually have a Wii U or a GameCube adapter.

Chances are making an SDL2 Input mapping might help, but I have no idea really.

I tried that a while ago, it didn't work.
