yeah sorry.... M$ cut back on the free space for every one a while back. I had to do some house cleaning on my onedrive to bring it down to the new amount of free space. you might be able to find the .dll elsewhere. just use caution when downloading .dll's from .dll download site. Also the old version of the d3d9.dll from win10 10586 may no longer work on w10 18363 (1909)

just remember to rename the d3d0.dll in order to use both the translation patches and fix the lag.

Just a heads up - windows 10 1803 (build 17133.1) and up will not run AA2 or any of the other hentai games that I have that have been modded with things like translation patches. I can even begin to read Japanese, so I can not tell you what the error messages from the game says.

I suspect the games not working has to do with the change in how windows handles memory. I.E. efforts to prevent changes to items in memory (like patch programs or trainers). while this works to prevent stuff like malware and so on from affecting are systems, it also means things like trainers, and patched programs, like those in AA2 will not work.

I have not figured out how to turn off the memory virtualization protection, but disabling that, may allow the games to work once again, at the expense of system security.

you did not read my entire postings then..... I gave a solution on how to get rid of the lag and still have subtitles. here it is again.

basicly the solution is this:

messing with windows system files is never a good idea. just place a working copy of the file in the games directory, and windows will use it instead of the windows installed version. I am not familair with the game you listed, but i for all windows games placing the DX files into the proper directory of the game will force the game to use that version not the version that windows uses. also another reason not to mess with windows system files, windows updates, and sfc will return the file to it's proper version if an update or repair is run.


using the method i quoted above, AA2 works just fine.

for those in the release preview ring there was an update last week that brought win10 to 14393.103. one of the things fixed was "various incompatibilites in direct3d" there were other fixes as well, but that particiular fix was what caught my eye. I have yet to test to see if the problems with the OS's version of d3d9.dll have been fixed. I will test it soon. You can expect the patch to come out soon for everyone else. maybe a week or two.

if you wna tot fix the lag, get the d3d9.dll form your 10586 files (c:\windows.old) and rename it to d3d9_alt.dll and place it into the aa2 install directory.

although i got AA2 after i upgraded to win 10, I have had no issues upgrading win7 to win 10. I started out upgrading to 10240 then to 10586 and now 14393. the only issue i have had is the changes to the d3d9.dll. to fix aa2 under 14393, get the d3d9.dll from your 10586 install, rename it yto d3d9_alt.dll and place it in your aa2 install directory.

NEW solution:

try renaming the 10586 version of d3d9.dll to d3d9_alt.dll and placing into your aa2 directory. DO NOT overwtite the existing D3D9.dll as it disable the HF translation launcher and most of the subtitles.
