Crashes + unable to edit d3d9.dll files

When I get into the game, and start with the school roster screen, any time a set a character or try randomise, my game crashes. When I press show, as a sprite comes up, I encounter huge lag.

I've tried SBapplocale, the win10 fix in AA2U, Using an old windows d3d9.dll file on my Sys64 and in the game files and it all leads to the error:

"Code: 0xC0000096
Address: 0x0469C2B2
Do you want to write aaucrash.dmp?"

It seems that whenever I mess with anything related to d3d9.dll, I get this error. Don't really know what to do anymore.

No, I tried everything I could. Eventually gave up.

I have no idea on how to edit those files, your situation is a bit different than mine, the d3d9 fix no longer works. In my situation, upon pressing ''Play'' the game opens the window and closes it a second later. It was working fine when I played it this summer.

The original d3d9 makes the game running fine but then we have the lag problem again.
My only theory is that one of the recent Windows updates has once again screwed this game over.
