For the most part I avoid multiplayer in games and purchase based on game mechanics or narrative (mostly single player components).
Ah yes, I forgot about coop (I guess because most of the times it sucks lol) but I really love Borderlands and the Mass Effect 3 coop modes
Oftentimes it doesn't help that the more tacked on the multiplayer is, the more ridiculous the achievements trying to get you to play it.
That's not to say that all MP achievements are bad. But it's hilariously terrible game design when a publisher demands an SP game also have multiplayer and the devs feel the need to use achievements as the incentive to cover up that the MP sucks.
single player bores me.
Coop actually doesn't phase me too much, it's the "reach level 50 in multiplayer", "win a ranked match on all 200 DLC maps" etc.
To each their own :) but out of curiosity where do single player games fall short for you? Like are you just a competitive person as far as your personality goes? Or do you just find game stories to not be all that engaging?
I mean no offense in any way, just trying to get a new perspective :)
Ah lol I should probably read more, I'm sure it would be much better for my eyes XD
