It is safe to use SAM?
You see, theres some achievements that will not unlock no matter if you already did all the steps to unlock it, it simply will not unlock and in some cases it will NEVER get fixed even if you tell the devs about the issue ( I have tried before, twitter, instagram, steam forums, they wont bugged and wont care)

SO for this anoying achievements I'm thinking about using SAM since I dont want my time and effort go to waste.

So my question is, it is safe to use SAM as 2020?

If is not safe, is there another method to unlock these anoyying achievements?

thx in advance guys.

it is but,you would be a very low scum that has absolutely no reason left to live and most of the people will despise you,but hey some wont know, expet us that is seeing this post,so think about,
archiving possible achievements fair or have some broken achievement left out cause there is no way to get them exept to hack.

I know, it's low, and trust me, I dont like the idea. But what else can I do after I unlocked 49 achievements and suprise suprise, the last one I can't unlock it because it is broken. And there was no warning in discussion or in the game community about it.

Plus to that I legit tried to contact the devs on their social media to report the issue but they don't care.

What else can I do my man.

The game won't count on Astats or the overall Steam Hunters community, and you would end up being blacklisted for your achievements. Nobody but you would care about being "100%" because anything legit you had earned would be ignored by the achievement hunting community at large - you would be branded as a cheater.

You would be alone.

So if it's worth that much to you, then SAM can make it so.

Just accept the fact that some games can't be perfected for whatever reason. Move on.

Why do you have the urge to show everyone your perfect games, I do not understand.

I didn't know about all the communities that you mentioned, so I guess I will be "alone" in a place where I even didn't know it existed.

I just want to complete 2 games that have broken achievements. I guess sam its literally the only solution I have even tho I dont like it.

I don't see any reason to remove me from here since I'm just asking a question.

Guys let be honest there are many people out there that cheat about achievements. For instance is cheating to work with a friend to earn an achievement which is supposed to be earned in a standard way (for instance in a competitive frame).

I mostly try to get my achievements without being helped by friends if I can but sometimes I use friends help like the majority in the achievement hunter community.

Well in my opinion to use SAM in some particular occasions (likewise unlock a broken achievement otherwise unobtainable) isnt cheating or at least is cheating like earn achievements with the friends help.

Sorry for the english. I hope it's clear what I mean.

Well said pal.

The irony of this is that there might be a lot of people in this community who already used SAM for this exact same reason or maybe other reasons, but won't say anything because they want to maintain this perfect image with the community, community filled with people that they dont even know IRL. Thats something I dont get it at all. But I respect regardless.

Thanks!

Further I tried to play together with some achievement hunters out there in order to obtain some specific achievements. It turned out to be very boring because the purpose were not having fun but farming achievements only. If you onbly tired to say let's play for real and not for farming they started to complain.

So I said again I cant see any difference in using sam for some unobtainable achievements and this behavior.

It is not a software endorsed by Steam/Valve. That said, they have not (yet anyway) done anything to prevent its use or punished any of its users. It is unknown whether this will change in the future.

Other in-direct dangers of using this software are the potential to be banned from this and/or other achievement hunting communities, and/or being black-listed on certain external achievement hunting trackers. However, using those trackers typically requires your profile to be public. Since yours is private, I assume you don't use them and thus don't have any of these downsides (including the membership of this group) at stake.

Only if you started using achievement hunter trackers would this come back to bite you. With a public profile and public games list it is easy to verify whether you have gained any achievements that are known to be broken. If you wanted to join them anyway, there is usually a process to appeal and typically remove all achievements in the affected games (using SAM itself, typically).

Personally, I use several achievement trackers and many of them acknowledge a game as completed if all the achievements are gained disregarding any known broken achievements. Broken achievements typically include time-restricted now-not-gainable achievements like e.g. playing the game while it was in Early Access.

I can totally agree on the statement about Achievement Hunters or generally Grinders in some games. They tend to get the job done the fastest and most efficient way and be lacking completely on having fun.

At the end of the day, I want to have fun while playing games. It is my freetime activity of choice and if I want to complete (for instance) Batman Arkham Origins and can't do so because it was a trend to add stupid multiplayer achievements to games at that time, (BA: Origins; Tomb Raider, even DOOM 2016, etc) then I can choose to use SAM to unlock these achievements. Because to me, Batman Arkham Origins is a singleplayer game. End of story.

Also, I recently read the "rules" concerning being a Completionist on SteamHunters. I do not understand why you need rules to complete games. I do not complete games for other people, I complete them because I WANT TO! I don't need anyone to tell me how to play and what I am allowed to do and what not. And that annoys me.

I've never used SAM, though I have some games with broken achievements (as in - the achievement is not even IMPLEMENTED).

I might one day use SAM. Achievement hunting is a personal thing. If you earned the achievement and the game failed to give it to you, go ahead and use it if you want.

Don't let a group of elitist tryhard dictate what you are allowed to do in your own game.

I agree with this. If you've genuinely met the requirements for an achievement and the game refuses to unlock it then I see nothing wrong with unlocking it manually. If you're just popping achievements willy-nilly without earning them then that's a different story but that's your life.
