I was really surprised by how much fun I had with this, but the fun of moving around the world and getting surprised by different clever things scattered around what should, on paper, be a pretty lifeless early-3D homage gave me a lot of enjoyment.

This isn't a game for everybody. I'd wager that people who were a _certain age_ when Super Mario 64 came out would find this more compelling than the younger set, maybe - or perhaps, those who eventually discovered those games through emulators.

The scenery and UI are a bit janky, and combat is simple and kind of frustratingly clumsy. But don't let that put you off - the movement is so slick that it would be better to think of this as a game somewhat like Portal: the terrain and room layoutis more the enemy, and the enemies are more like obstacles.

In that regard, this game is an exercise in pitting your ability to reach the platform waaaaaay over there against your doubts, and it is sufficiently flexible to let you break the sequence of the game if you're persistent.

The worst parts of this game: the "I'm lost and the map can't even be rotated, let alone show me where I am or which way I'm pointing," or "I used a key from this area on a door way across the world and now I have no idea where the last key I'm looking for is" are forgivable. This is a game jam game, and should be enjoyed in that spirit. A couple of typos or stuck-in-walls are normally pretty chilling to my enthusiasm, but that is how fun the level design is, so turn off the retro animation framerate and get wall-kickin'.

The game is so good with satisfying movements and great level design. Each room is a pleasure to navigate in.
The biggest downside is the map that don't show the precise current position so it's hard to know where to go. If it's a technical issue a compass could be fine at least to know which exit go where. Also an option to see the map of each level would be awesome.

If the dev somehow manage to release a second game with similar gameplay I would buy it honestly.

Short and sweet, very satisfying platforming mechanics. Every upgrade feels meaningful and moving around is fun by itself. At this price, this game is a steal.
