i just got the game and cant get it to play says im missing files, i have verified files and re downloaded and nothing

I am asking the devs for a refund on this game (bought on Switch) I'm really gutted because this game looked really promising, but I can't even load my save anymore, and that's after putting up with all the bugs and unpolished game design. I'll happily buy the game again when it's had some serious work done, but right now I feel kinda cheated and robbed and I feel silly for buying it without waiting on reviews. I seen this game on console for my PS5. It's been in my wish list for some time now. It's listed for $39 but keeps going on sale for $29. From what I keep hearing about this game is that it's not worth the price. I agree with the $39 price, but what about $29? It also seems like this is an abandoned game, and that tells me that the problems with the game will stay, and no updates ugh.. what to do.?...
