Hey, I tried to play the demo on my steam deck. I used to layout provided and the start button is not progressing past the title screen. I’ll try it on my pc later. Maybe I can remap it.

I completed the demo, and think the game play in the demo is pretty solid. I played on keyboard and the game felt good and the controls where tight. I only have four points of constructive criticism in case the dev(s) read this. 1. I think that jumping on enemies as an attack really complements the bow, but it is not taught to the player at all in the demo and the bow encourages players to stay at a distance where they wouldn't normally figure it out on their own. Controller mapping seems buggy. It often maps a single button press to multiple inputs. For example, while mapping d-pad if I use the actual d-pad on my xbox controller the game will skip through all dpad inputs and map the single button I pressed to all 4 directions. But if I press the l-stick for directions I can map each direction properly. The start/select buttons are the same - if I press the menu button on my controller it'll skip through and map it to both the start and select buttons at once. face ...

I felt like I was constantly fighting the controls. Jumping does not feel precise, and it manages to feel simultaneously floaty and heavy. The bow mechanic is fun, but waiting for your arrows to come back is kind of a slog. Everything about the game seems cool but the controls just immediately killed it for me. Hopefully they can be improved. I can't really advise how to improve them, just that my feedback is that it feels clumsy and imprecise. Particularly jumping, and friction.
