@YellowAfterlife Discord invite link has expired. Same for the one on itch.io.

There's ability to play game in 60fps in current beta version of Nuclear Throne Together (see discord [discord.gg]), but it both doubles the CPU load and affects how some mechanics work, so it is unlikely that it'll be making it to the base game in it's current form.
they wont

Please add 60fps support. I get migraines at 30. Will buy it once you do this.

Regarding whether this is the last update, there will be at least one more update with bugs found in this update, and potentially another one if there's ever a proper resolution to Win10 black-screening the game on select computers (aside of Alt+Shift+Enter).

Regarding 60fps, a Nuclear Throne Together build with experimental 60fps support can be found on discord [discord.gg], but it is not known whether this'll ever make it to base game as it takes a pretty beefy computer to maintain 60fps at all times, and there aren't too many things that extra performance could be squeezed out of - the game just wasn't made with this in mind.

Instead of hardcoding your bullet speed, for example, like this
bullet_speed = 3; // 3 pixels by Step 3 * 30 = 90 pixels/sec
you can use something like this
bullet_speed = 90 / game_get_speed(gamespeed_fps); // don't use "room_speed" - it's deprecated!
That way, if you set fps to 30, you will get:
90 / 30 = 3
3 * 30 = 90 pixels/sec
If you set fps to 60, you will get
90 / 60 = 1.5
1.5 * 60 = 90 pixels/sec
If you set fps to 120, you will get
90 / 120 = 0.75
0.75 * 120 = 90 pixels/sec
Same speed at any fps!

60 fps is possible in this engine, but many things are tied to current fps. If you just change the fps to 60 (which is very easy to do), some things will just broke the game. For example, bullet velocity, gravity and character movement are tied to fps.
I'm NOT a developer of this game, but I'm learning GameMaker Studio 2.
