People whining about problems in a EA game that DIDNT FORCE MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET! By now you should know to buy EA at your own risk. Every EA game has problems. Criticism is fine, but losing your mind about an EA game having problems is funny to me. I have no sympathy for you. DONT BUY IT if you arent adult enough to handle your emotions.

Not bought the game yet, have it on my follow, but from what I'm seeing there's a lot of active fixes going in so defintily worth keeping an eye on.

"It can require months of playtesting. Releasing an "unfinished" product to customers, letting them playtest it, then releasing free updates to fix said bugs is by no means unreasonable."

Just to add to this statement. A game in test phase might have a few hundred severe bugs that several playtesters encounter. They seek to eradicate hundreds or even thousands of those bugs and then the product is shipped. It is then that thousands more individuals encounter more obscure or minor bugs that the developers attempt to fix.

Were we to see a game released in its earlier build state -- you'd have a lot more to complain about. Bug testing is a very difficult process and even the oldest games still have many thousands of bugs that just weren't that well heard of back during their release.

Anyway. Have a good day, people.

"Since when does complaining about a broken product you paid money for make you a whiner?"
"You go buy a car and the steering wheel pops off every 10 miles or so"

I imagine that a lack of experience of programming is what leads to this line of thinking. Sure, it's not whining to complain about the quality of a paid product... however! Programming with millions of lines of code that's all reliant on each other and using thousands of files and pre-requisites will ALWAYS result in a few bugs here and there. Some of them will be very severe and most will be minor.

That said -- a lot of people make a big issue out of the minor complaints. It's more like complaining that your car that you bought has an issue where the radio sometimes switches off when you turn off the engine, rather than complaining about a steering wheel that breaks off.

@qestwriter A car is not the same as a video game. You are not going to have a steering column driven through your chest because pressing a button in X4 causes a CTD. Software companies release broken products all the time. It is because often the advantage to some consumers of having access to a product outweighs the negative penalties of bugs. You have every right to complain that a product was released and was broken, but complaining about it being bug-ridden WHILE THE TEAM IS ACTIVELY AND FREQUENTLY RELEASING PATCHES TO FIX BUGS is absurd. Part of the reason these products are released "unfinished" is because finding bugs isn't simple. It can require months of playtesting. Releasing an "unfinished" product to customers, letting them playtest it, then releasing free updates to fix said bugs is by no means unreasonable.

Glad to see bugs are being fixed. Keeping on watch list for now. Will be happy to buy once it's finished.

Since when does complaining about a broken product you paid money for make you a whiner? Imagine if any other buisness was like this! You go buy a car and the steering wheel pops off every 10 miles or so and everyone screeches at you to "stop whining" when you complain about it. Yeah that sounds rediculous but doing the same thing to gamers is fine because gaming companies have conditioned you to accept broken product and even lash out at anyone who expects their game to function! You have every right to complain about something you paid money for not working. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a tool.

Screw the whiners, this is a golden oppurtunity to witness a game evolve.
