Dev log #7 - Meet The Exalted

In four days, Dicevaders launches on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, giving you access to 10 Commanders with completely different ways to break the game.

Today, we’re introducing another new Commander who’s strategy revolves around levelling up artifacts.

Introducing The Exalted

This Commander is all about levelling, triggering, and strategically positioning artifacts to get the most power as possible.

Their starter perk is Divine Touch, which triggers any artifact at Level 3 or below when it levels up. Launching a triple with your Base Dice also gives +10 XP to every artifact on your board.

Here is a breakdown of the perks and artifacts available with The Exalted:

Dark Tower (Legendary artifact): After you score any triple, score the unit with the highest STR with +1 Repeat.
Golden Halo (Legendary artifact): Adjacent artifacts have “+1” to their number that scales.
Broken Lens (Perk): Your pairs count as triples, but your Base Dice start cracked.
Dark Medal (Perk): Your Starter perk now works for the artifacts at Level 4 or above.
Galactic Web (Uncommon artifact): Your Web units give +2 XP to the artifact in its column when scored. When your turn begins, spawn a Web on a random tile.
Red Spice (Legendary artifact): When your turn ends, reduce the level of the artifact to the left of this by 2. If you did, multiply your Mult by x2.

You’ll be able to play as The Exalted when Dicevaders launches on September 29th.

A simple suggestion for the game.

I just played the demo and I thought it was very good. Looking forward to the release in a few days and I'll certainly be buying. Just a simple sugggestion that would make all the difference to me and possibly others. Can you please telegraph what the player's expected total attack score would be if they were to accept the dice rolls as they are? This would enable the player to make decisions as to whether to spend more budges and tokens rerolling. There is the problem that the mini-dice are not fully...

Our countdown to launch continues - just 5 days to go!

Dicevaders arrives on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on September 29th, and today we’re revisiting a Commander many of you will already recognize from our latest demo.

If you haven’t played her yet, there’s still time to try her in the Steam demo before launch!

Introducing The Duchess

The Duchess is all about expanding the board and building a powerful army of Chess units.

Her starter perk is The Art Of War, which allows you to build up to the fourth row and have access to her unique chess units. Whenever you spawn a non-Token unit, it’ll gain a shield and give +10 XP to the artifact in its column.

Here is a breakdown of the perks and artifacts available with The Duchess:

En Passant (Legendary artifact): When you destroy a non-Token unit, get +1 Chrono and +2 Mini-Dice.
Stone Chisel (Uncommon artifact): When this artifact is gained and when it levels up, a Pawn will spawn on a random tile and gain +20 STR. When a new Pawn spawns, it’ll give all units +10 STR for each Pawn on the grid.
Usurper (Perk): Capturing and sacrificing grants +50% STR.
Blitz Armor (Legendary artifact): When you score a unit with a Shield, break its Shield to gain +1 Budge and +10 Mult.
Fortress (Rare artifact): When you spawn a non-Token unit, build a random tile and give +30 STR to a random unit.
Tableflipper (Perk): When your turn begins, trigger the “On Bought” or “On Spawn” abilities of all units in the bottom row.

Dev log #5 - Meet Whisperer

We’re now just five days away from launch! Dicevaders arrives on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on September 29th, bringing 10 unique Commanders and countless game-breaking combinations with it.

Today, we’re introducing another Commander you haven’t had the chance to play as yet.

Introducing Whisperer

Whisperer is built around spawning and destroying special Apple units to strengthen the rest of your build.

This commander’s starter perk is Frugivore - which spawns an Apple on a random empty tile when your turn begins, given there are none already on the board. When an Apple is scored as part of a pair, it is destroyed and grants you +3 Mini-Dice. Destroying an Apple also gives +10 XP to all artifacts on the board.

Here is a breakdown of the perks and artifacts available with Whisperer:

Big Apple (Common artifact): When your turn begins, give +100 STR to Apple units.
Parasite (Uncommon artifact): When you destroy any UNIT in this column, you get +1 Mini-Dice and +2 Mult.
Wormfection (Perk): When you destroy an Apple, spawn two Worms on random tiles.
Whalefall (Legendary artifact): Each time a unit is destroyed, give 20% of its STR to a random unit.
Rat Poison (Rare artifact): When you score a pair in this column, score a random Token unit with +2 Repeat.
Bogland (Perk): Your non-Token units gain an “On Death” effect that grants +1 Budge and +1 $.

Whisperer will be available when Dicevaders launches on September 29th.

Will Demo Progress Carry Over?

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned in any earlier Topics or News/Update Posts but after realizing how soon the game’s release date was & having unlocked quite a bit of content for the first few Commanders, I was eager to ask if any of the progress made in the Demo would transfer into the release version of Dicevaders? I’m holding back on playing a little more so I don’t burn myself out on the game already but, even though it’s not an absolute dealbreaker, I’m still hoping that it’ll be easi...

Warped Ghost

I got a "Warped Ghost" through the "Strange Portal" artifact, which respawns it indefinetly on death. I wanted to get rid of it, but didn't find a way, 'cause even if there isn't any space it just respawns on the same tile. It didn't fit my build. So how do I get rid of it? Because if I can't - is "Strange Portal" ever worth it? It can ruin your entire build and you are stuck with whatever build you can make it into. I'd appreciate anyones help with this....

Dicevaders: A Quick Retrospective

I went into the DEMO expecting a quick session of "oh! Look at the colourful graphics! And the cute slime girl!" I was then glued to my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ little laptop for ten hours.
