This is a fantastic little creature collector! It's half Stacklands, half Pokémon.
The cozy feel made this a highly enjoyable game to return to in the evenings and play for a couple of relaxed hours. I got invited for the final playtest and was able to play the whole game early.

While battling is obviously your main way to proceed in the game, I actually found building up my base and crafting better items to be the most satisfying part of Stackmon.
There's a surprising amount of depth to the battles, with feeding your monsters items, swapping them in and out of battles, buffing them and plain old elemental advantages. Even after having played plenty of hours, the battles are still at a satisfying level of difficulty. You cannot just use your starter and overlevel it to run through the entire game. You need to build up a team. I was also surprised by how many viable different Stackmon there are. Every time I started anew, I tried to go with an entirely different team. And you know what? While some had shortcomings, other monsters I had never considered before turned out surprisingly strong.
I think the game as a lot of interesting mechanics, with each region having a different game board mechanic and later additions to the base later making it better and more satisfying to stay at the camp. I always felt there's much to do and had to regurarly force myself to go to sleep, rather than going on "just one more expedition".

A seasoned player might take 10-15 hours to complete the game, for casuals and completionnists it may easily be closer to 20-30 hours. With that in mind I think it's well worth paying full price.
I enjoyed my time with Stackmon immensely and will certainly return to play some more casual hours every now and then.

I've loved playing Stacklands back in the day, always hoping for something that pushed its idea further, more robust and more polished. I played Stackmon's demo a ton, and it delivers, with monster taming mechanics and themes that tie the whole game together in a great way! Played for an hour right after release and I can't wait to dive back in this weekend!

how to submit bug report?

Whenever all my mons are dead (specifically in a soot area) the game keeps looping the animation that shows your mons knocked out and going back into the bag. If possible I would like to alert the devs so they can patch it eventually.

Stackmon Demo - Patch Note - Version 7.0.33

Hey everyone!

A new Stackmon demo update is now live with more fixes and improvements.

This update focuses on storage behavior, card despawning, loading and exploration stability. We also made a small demo content adjustment and added the Chinese logo animation in-game.

We’ve been keeping an eye on the issues you’ve reported, and this build addresses another batch of them. Please keep letting us know if anything feels off.

Adjustments & Bug Fixes

Adjusted demo content by removing a few recipes
Added the Chinese logo animation in-game
Fixed a storage reset issue that could cause the “card inception” bug
Fixed cards not being properly removed from storage when the storage was despawned
Fixed mixed item types appearing in storage
Fixed an input issue in the Rock Slide event
Fixed Rock Slide points decreasing after loading a save
Fixed a null reference issue when upgrading houses with more than two houses and two Stackmons
Fixed an issue where the Explore button could get stuck after a Stackmon received essence
Fixed issues related to card despawning
Fixed issues with cards on the board incorrectly registering other cards
