Y'know what: you guys are pretty cool. You released a solid, good, but somewhat lacking game, if still impressive for a small team, and I didn't begrudge you; I knew you did your best, but I still felt the lack. But now with your DLC, you could just be going, "OK, it's Warriors of the North, we've added some northern warriors: ship it!" and I wouldn't have begrudged you that. But no, you add a bunch of stuff that was lacking. Having origins is awesome and will mean I'll buy this. I was on the fence until now 'Cause I like the game but wasn't sure it had much more to give with more DLC.

At this point, you've officially got a fan. I do hope to see another DLC with settlement management mechanics and/or modding support. Battle Brothers is a fantastic platform to expand on. You clearly realize this, and I know a modding community would too. I know that's a big ask and may be totally infeasible. But I hope.

Either way though, cheers. I shall buy a bottle of mead and lift it to you.

Shlazaor, well said. I played CK2 a lot too, and I have also noticed the same pattern starting to be originated. Nice observation.

So what is the story here? I loved Battle Brothers but the developers were clear they did not want to release DLC and wanted to move on to other products. I am assuming whatever they wanted to do did not pan out. I'd say I'm sorry but I frankly I am delighted. I see a lot of similarities between this and Ck2. Sure the base game was fun but the potential for DLC seemed endless. I am glad they took the pragmatic route of developing a hyper successful game, a unicorn achievement in and of itself for a small gaming company.
