It's time to take flight - Exark is now officially released!

For those of you just joining us on the journey, Exark is an inventory management-style engine builder where, as captain-general of the ark, you are tasked with maintaining morale on a perilous 9-flight journey to the Rim of the world.

Generate resources - food, gold, production, and inspiration - to boost your morale and keep the trust of your crew and passengers.
Find unique and powerful interactions between hundreds of buildings, crew members, items, and relics.
Face a bevy of hostile enemy sky-ships and creatures determined to bring down your ark.
Survive 9 flights to reach the (questionable) safety of the Event Horizon.

For those who are already familiar with the demo, the full version includes:

Access to all four Great Houses - the ingenious House Arioch, the industrious House Mnesis, the symbiotic House-in-Exile, and the necromantic House Imperia. (Note that House Imperia still has some placeholder art for its buildings - our pixel artists are working hard on finalizing these and we expect to patch them in over the next few weeks!)
The Hazard System - for those looking for a challenge, reach Rank 1 to access the Hazards System - additional modifiers to make the journey even more difficult, selectable at the start of a run.
The Star Atlas - earn Star Shards at the end of each run, which can be used to forge Stars that can be slotted into the Star Atlas to provide both powerful blessings, but also a irksome curse.

Also, look out for the fifth Great House - the Infinite Kingdom, comprised of robot-knights astride the mighty ark Carcharodon - coming up in a subsequent update!

Knowledge gap?

Messing around with learning the game and trying stuff out, and without even turning up any difficulty options or harder modes. I seem to get obliterated by random fights in the last 3rd section of the map. Going from smooth sailing and 1500+ morale to 0 within an single fight. Is there some sort of meta-game or tip or scaling that isn't obvious at first glance in the game? While I generally understand the idea of the game, there's an massive lack of feedback or how good your engine should be at any point...

Couriers?

For some reason the courier crew are no longer showing up at 100 hazard..neither caged souling a petrified statue nor doing the mission that specifically gives a courier gave one but I do not see anything listed for it..

Two buildings bear the same name

Hello, I'm posting about the Symposion. There's two building bearing that name. One is a 2x2 square building with a Trigger activated by Multicast in a target building that provides 10 research at level 1. The other is a three-block L-shaped building that has a Trigger that creates copies of its crew and equiped items on entering a settlement. I have no idea if you've already noticed it, but I just did. So, I decided to bring it to your attention. Thank you for the game !...

Refreshing game in the roguelite/auto battler/inventory management genre. Enough that I see myself playing this for a good bit.

The art and sound design is incredibly charming with a relatively mild learning curve to clear the game. It took me a few runs in the demo version to wrap my head around the core mechanics that when I delved into this I got to clear it first try.

I have seen some typos and grammatical issues which hopefully is fixed in due time and haven't ran into a game breaking bug as of yet.

Some QoL is sorely needed in parts of the game. My first point being a hotkey/keybind (and hotkey rebind) for the few buttons in terms of gameplay: decelerate time, accelerate time, return time to 1x, cancel, confirm. Otherwise, you are left with clicking a lot of buttons through every run and I can see that becoming annoying for people who want to do multiple runs of the game. (Note: Dev is actively taking feedback and has mentioned they have completed hotkeys for next update and may work on rebinds)

Second bit of QoL I would like to see is ultrawide support. The game has the graphics option to run 21:9 but just slaps you in the eyes with the infamous vertical black bars on your edges.

If you're on the fence about the game, try the demo to see if the gameplay is fun for you.

Game is awesome. Only played it a bit so far, but it's scratching the itch that I've been hoping for from all the backpack battler type games. It's a unique spin on the idea, and it rewards you greatly for cleverness. Only complaint is it could use some optimization for when things get really broken. On the last battle, my game was LAGGING from all the triggers going on.

This game is begging for a positive review but it just doesn't deserve one.

This has all of the makings of a fantastic "Backpack Battles" clone that operates on a PvE almost "Roguelike" aspect, but the entire idea falls apart in the execution.

The biggest issue is that the game doesn't "ease" you into the game, but rather throws everything the game has to offer all at once. Alright, we'll call that a learning curve, sure. However, even as I'm trying to figure out if I want more Academic research or Workshop research, or hell, let's focus on Military or Commerce for whatever reason. The problem is that the game doesn't give you proper feedback of success or failure. You just breeze by until you fail with the same loadout you were just winning with and feeling like you've made all of the correct, "logical" choices that were made available to you.

This game has a great idea, but fumbles so hard in the execution because it feels like the developers expect you to have the knowledge and build foresight of the actual developers themselves as you're just trying to get your feet wet. Hell, even the tutorial isn't clear on explaining on how to succeed, just "these are the mechanics and good luck!". Nothing in the game feels explained particularly well either - just text with game-specific language that expects you to understand it despite giving you nothing beyond a one-sentence message in a tutorial.

I just ask the devs to go back and reconsider the onboarding process massively. I keep losing going into the fifth or sixth flight with no idea what I did right or I did wrong. I just bought buildings that made sense, linked up the synergies the best that I could, placed the "workers" on the best spots I thought possible, and yet I just end up losing and I have no idea why. I'm okay with accepting "skill issue", but again: nothing is explained well enough for me to figure out why that is.

[BUG] Lost Core

I upgraded mid flight something that was near my core and then my core just vanished. Ended up losing because my core was quite boosted. Nothing I could do after.

Enchanter Emeratus may be a tad strong

Im at around 600s in the void with no showing of slowing down. Been locked at -2,147,483,648 morale for a while. Have a building producing 5.26E+17 science and 1.58E+18 food every 0.8s. With a 290% multicast, 33% crit chance and 2.4 crit multiplier. Is this normal? Mostly its a result of the doubling from the enchanter ....
