Our Demo Has Left the Agora!

Oct 27

A huge thank you to all of the Founders who joined us in Ancient Greece for our Steam Next Fest demo!

With ongoing tweaks and changes, we’re closing the agora. Since the demo no longer reflects the current state of the game, we didn’t want to anger Hermes by giving you an experience that didn’t truly reflect the game.

So many of you jumped into our demo, and we can’t thank you enough for the feedback. The team is busy working on our final tweaks, and you can get back into Ancient Greece with our blend of history and mythology on November 4th!

We could not have built our polis without your help! We can’t wait to welcome you into the city on November 4th. Don’t forget to join us on Discord[discord.gg] to share your city-building strategies and learn from other Founders as we explore this mythological world together.

African people in ancient Greece?

So I am Greek, and seeing some screen shots I notice there are black people being depicted in the game, and before anyone screams racist and starts throwing buzz words around, its like making a game based on the zulu tribes and have white people in that setting, it makes no sense...

The demo won’t launch.

Hi! The demo isn’t working properly. The main menu doesn’t respond to clicks on “New Game,” “Settings,” or “Exit” — none of the buttons work at all. I’ve tried reinstalling the game and launching it with DX12, DX11, and Vulkan, but nothing changes....

Can't unfollow worker

I'm playing the demo and I clicked the locate button on the tax collector and now I can't unfollow him. I can't scroll away until he goes back into his building but then as soon as he comes back out, I'm stuck following him around. What do I do?

My main criticism of the demo: The cities are too quiet

So, I just played a few minutes of the demo, and while there are several details I appreciate—the graphics, the idea of being able to customize worker paths and link buildings—there's one detail that really bothered me: the silence. One of the things I loved most in the old Impression games was clicking on the population just to hear them talk. Life seemed alive; you could hear animals, workers, people walking, and so on. Right now, the villages I've built in Theos are shrouded in silence, which...
