The lack of quicksaves is fine, but the absence of any checkpoints in these medium-to-long-sized levels was such a poor decision. I get that the game wants to be a hardcore shooter, but for me this doesn't add difficulty, it just makes the experience more exhausting than anything. This, combined with dark, mostly cramped maps and enemies that blend into the background makes this a pass for me. Very unfortunate as the game has a great aesthetic and decent gunplay going for it.
A couple added gameplay options could go a long way here.

Difficult, which I like, and the weapons are interesting, but it's too unpolished.

I've only been through the first map but there were moments where I was hit by enemy fire through walls.

Wait for a patch to clean it up a bit.

This just ain't it. I have tried getting into this game so many times, but the lack of visual clarity and just the overall flow of the levels is not for me.
