About the Game

As one of the few humans remaining on Earth, the protagonist, along with a team of investigators — is sent to examine a mysterious object that crash-landed on a remote island.

But with their return imminent, their only means of transport malfunctions. You are left stranded on an island with no way out.

Is someone deliberately sabotaging the mission — or does a hidden horror lurk upon the island, drawing ever closer?

Scour every corner, check every location, and survive this maddeningly surreal world.

About the Developer

Independent developer roccay originally majored in molecular cell biology and pathology, but now works full-time on game development. They've created several mini-games in the past, but The Dream Of A Cockspur marks their debut full-length title.

PLAYISM is proud to announce that the Steam version of The Dream Of A Cockspur, an investigation-based survival horror adventure game developed by roccay, is scheduled for release in 2026!

We're also excited to drop a new announcement trailer!!

As one of the last remaining researchers on Earth, you and a team of investigators are sent to examine a mysterious extraterrestial object that crash-landed on a remote island...but things start to get weird as you sense an unseen horror lurking in the shadows, drawing ever closer.

Stranded on a desolate island with Earth's final researchers, you investigate a mysterious celestial body. The day before departure, the return boat is damaged, forcing an extended stay. Is someone playing tricks, or does the island want to kill all of you?

Note

The demo version is a brief showcase of the art style, mood, and basic story setting of the game. For those who prefer a complete story experience, it is suggested to wait for the full version (Releasing end of this year).

Demo Update Log

2024.01.16 #1 Update: Fixed the issue of text speed being too slow in the English version. Known Issues: The history session sometimes displays rich text. (fixed) Esc Menu cannot be used to restart the game after the demo ends (please close the game and reopen it if you want to play it again). will continued working on that....

demo glitch

A little bit into the demo the arrows at the bottom of the screen to stop looking somewhere stopped working, so it was impossible to progress. I tried replaying, then restarting the game, and even reinstalled it from steam then downloaded from itchi.io but none of that fixed it. Hopefully this won't be present in the full release. For reference, I can no longer leave the plate after bagging the bread or progress any further...
