ATTENTION, RUNNERS

Trustwell Corporation confirms that the Wreck Runners Steam Next Fest Demo has now concluded.

To everyone who braved the Fog and entered the Triangle during Next Fest - Thank you.

Whether it was your first time, or you took part in previous playtests, thank you for sharing your experience and leaving your feedback.

Next Fest gave us a broader look at how players are finding Wreck Runners, and just as importantly, where the experience still needs work. We were really happy with the excitement around the co-op lobby antics and fun with the ORCA. At the same time, we recognize that enemy intensity and pacing in the demo didn't always create enough space to explore and prepare, so we've made a number of changes to improve the overall flow of combat.

Here's what we're doing to address this for launch:

• A more gradual progression in enemy numbers, variety, and intensity throughout each run.

• Changes to the pacing of the threat level timer, giving you more opportunities to explore, gather salvage, and prepare between enemy waves.

• Exploding enemies will no longer leap at players from behind.

• Flying Eyeballs no longer deal damage when picked up. Instead, they'll only shock you with their energy field.

• Birds that latch onto the ORCA are now much easier to spot.

• Improved enemy variety in the early stages of a run.

These are just some of the many improvements we've been making as we continue preparing for launch. Thanks again to everyone who's taken the time to play the demo and share their thoughts. Please keep it coming.

If you enjoyed your time in the Triangle, thank you for helping spread the word. If you came away unsure, or felt parts of the experience were not yet where they need to be, thank you for taking the time to say so. That kind of feedback is just as important to us.

For now, recovery operations are temporarily suspended.

Linux Compatibility Issues

Currently on CachyOS (Arch-based Linux) the game does not render the environment or player model when joining or hosting a lobby. The normal "go-to" solution is to launch a game through the Proton compatibility layer when errors like this occur; however, the game can not authenticate the player's Steam profile when launching with Proton enabled....

Launch Date & Next Fest Demo

Trustwell Corporation is excited to announce that Wreck Runners will launch on July 16 for PC, PlayStation 5[store.playstation.com] and Xbox Series X|S.

Trustwell can also confirm that crossplay will be available, allowing crews to enter the Triangle together across platforms when full recovery operations begin.

For operatives eager to begin ahead of schedule, the Wreck Runners Next Fest Demo is now live!

In the Wreck Runners Demo, you'll get a proper taste of the chaos waiting out in the Fog. Co-op salvage runs, haunted wrecks, and the kind of physics-driven disasters that only seem to get worse when your friends are involved.

why cant we lower the sound of the rain/wind? its sounds like a tropical cyclone is coming all the time and i'm just in the HUB waiting for friends to join in game and when they do the first thing they says is that its so loud, it was so bad for them they raged quit the game. :(...

No way to defend?

I was targeted by flying creatures and there was no way to escape, fight back, etc. only could just die. I assume I am missing something?

Me and my good-looking friend were playing today, and we came across something that looked like a shredder of some sorts. Does anyone know how to use this? Or the purpose of it? Thank you very much.

Wreck Runners is Heading to Steam Next Fest

ATTENTION RUNNERS,

Trustwell Corporation is pleased to announce that Wreck Runners has been selected for participation in this Summer's Steam Next Fest from June 15 to June 22.

As part of Next Fest, the Wreck Runners Demo will be launching very soon and for returning salvagers, this will be your next opportunity to re-enter the Triangle.

Playtest Learnings

Following our latest playtest, we've spent a great deal of time reviewing field reports, Steam discussions, and Discord feedback alongside our own internal observations.

We spent much of the last development cycle focused on improving the early run experience through the store, progression, and player choice. Based on this playtest, we saw encouraging signs that those changes are heading in the right direction.

The feedback we're seeing now is increasingly focused on what happens after those first few runs.

Over the course of the playtest, we saw crews perform 27,630 runs into the Triangle. Crews are requesting more variety across runs, and more reasons to explore deeper into the Triangle. We also heard continued feedback around combat, and with a total of 1,669,725 enemy kills, players are looking for more varied enemy encounters and better readability.

As a result, many of our discussions coming out of last weekend's playtest are centered around:

Expanding world variety
Adding new activities and encounters
Improving enemy and combat experiences
Expanding enemy variety
Refining and improving shop upgrades and gear unlocks as difficulty rises

These are exactly the kinds of conversations we hoped this playtest would help surface, and they're already helping to shape what comes next.
