There have been multiple people who got banned by simply having cheat engine open without a hook into a VAC game. This even happened to a relatively famous csgo
player who apparently tried to use it on cookie clicker. He has since been unbanned but it's still worth noting instead of only forcing to believe he's lying. Nobody here in the forums can unban him so it

No other trickery I am aware of. All the buffs are miniscule.

It is cookie clickers worst mechanic by a long shot. There are cheats/mods to circumvent it.

edit: nevermind, after removing cheated cookies taste awful, importing my save, then reloading the game i got all the achievements!

three reasons why an autoclicker in "Cookie Clicker" can clearly NOT lead to a VAC ban:

1) VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) is only used in games with multiplayer (PVP; server-based) or multiplayer support
actually have to cheat to unlock them. You'll have to find out for yourself how. ;-)
