Devs, you might consider shifting your focus onto PVE.

It's no easy job to make a competitive PVP game. Good balancing, anti-cheat, server quality, optimization, match making and replay system. Even for many big studios, they didn't mange to do these well.

Yet unfortunately, from what is seen in this forum, reddit and discord, the game fails to meet the players' expectations on these aspects. People complain about anti-cheat not being functional. Random people with 1500 elo match with pre-teams of 1900 elo or sometimes with newbies with 800 elo. People complain because they want a fair environment for competition. If the game cannot provide a fair match environment, then what is the point of doing PVP?

On the other hand, the game's single player experience also didn't meet the player's expectations. There is no proper enemy AI. And there is no friendly AI at all. Also, there is no save function in campaign missions, which most of these missions last for 30 minute long.

I believe people buy the game because they want a WW3 simulator than a sweaty competitive game. Why wouldn't t they just play MOBA games if they want 5v5 e-sport? This is my subjective thought. But I think the devs could do a servey to see what kind of game the majority of the community want.

So, I think the devs could consider prioritising their focus on PVE and single player content instead. As well as fixing and improving the performance issues of the game. Make more content, like extra factions, extra campaigns. Add better friendly and hostile AI. And add save functions to both campaign and skirmish.

The unit stats, combat scale and balancing wouldn't be significant matters in that case. So you can save time on rebalancing stuffs. And speed up content productions. People complain less in a single player game. This would make the community less toxic as well. Basically commnities of PVP-oriented games are all full of disputes.

Besides, having decent single player and co-op contents increases the lifespan of the game. Because people might still buy the game for single player experience even if the PVP community dies one day. As long as new content keeps coming, the game will still be alive. Think about if 1-2 new faction per year, how long this game can live.

I'm not saying that multiplayer should be neglected. But they could perfect the single player experience first since it's the best way to demonstrate that the game is a completed product. Multiplayer could be perfected later.

We could take Gates of Hell:Ostfront as example, a RTT game that is also created by a small Russian studio.
