I'm sure more good stuff will come down the road. For me, a game with amazing graphics and details that I can also modular build (or I can use the high quality premade ones), breeding and babies, and deep waters is good enough. Its pretty much like PK, which I love, but with better graphics.

play asa dude there are also dinosaurs, is a bit worse but idc, got mods IN the game so u dont have to go to nexus mods and do 100 things to download 1 mod just for your game to be bugged after and got the same, if not better, graphics if you got a good pc so dude why pay for 3 games like 180$ or how much it is bruhhh

ASA was ironically quite the cash grab too - they were going to give it to ASE owners free of charge as an update - but decided it would be better to shut down the official servers, sell it to us at AAA price, force us to use third-party hosting (so they could get royalties, you see), and proceed to take several years to release the base game's content because they're too busy making pay-to-win PVP DLC (also sold for the price of a AAA game).

I think a key section would be useful, to explain which is a camp site, xyz, etc

The 12 maps are a myth started by Shroud/ LVNDMARK on stream.

I could not find a source for either.
I even listened to the hour-long VOD with the design director Shay twice - which was cited as the source.

I think it started because in 1 of the earlier videos there was a map and there were strings marking 12 locations.

They produced good games, but in a past. Today its entirely different studio with different people. Only the name is the same.
And looks like they didn't learn a thing from Avowed backlash.

Updating bios is a terrible idea unless you absolutely have to do it, which is rare. While it’s fairly unlikely that it would lose power during the update or the update itself would be corrupted, if it did you now have a paperweight instead of a PC and you’re looking at a motherboard replacement at the minimum. There aren’t do overs for that.

Just be very careful if you choose to go that route

The gameplay loop isn't shallow for any reasonable measure of a co-op PvE game. I'd say it's one of the most replayable co-op games I've ever played. You yourself have admitted to running mods that give you more flares and stuff, which just further takes away from the gameplay elements, so I seriously doubt your judgement here.

Wrong, I've never joined a lobby with teammates I can't play with. Even in the rare extreme cases of really bad players or people who are rude, you can still just play like normal and ignore them.

If you are a casual who is okay with playing easy solo content between waiting for parties....ya, the game is still playable. If you find one or two haz5+ modifiers challenging content and u want to eventually work up to full modifiers while doing mostly base haz4/5 stuff still.....sure, it's more or less playable for people like that as well.

You are talking about 95% of the playerbase of the game, the ones that the devs focus on attracting. OP is probably in this majority as well, so if we are actually answering OP's question, the game is still alive.

You try talking to anyone they either straightup leave, get defensive and then toxic and then try trolling the game, ignore you completely, sit around doing less than nothing, or say something that completely misundrestands your comment and makes u wonder what they even know about the game.

What community? The forums are the community as far as I'm concerned.

I don't have a list, but I remember a lot of conversations I've had with people. Most of the time it's other people starting it. I've had people ask me about my name and we then about books I've read. I've had discussions about weapon builds and overclocks, sometimes with experienced players sharing their favourites, sometimes with new players asking for recommendations. Discussion on game balance for events has happened a lot, mostly complaining about OMEN and corestone.

Of course, none of this really matters, because in my books a teammate is good if they simply respond to r checks and listen to people's pings. Even your average low level casual player will probably meet that criteria, and it really isn't that big of a deal even if people do ignore communication. I find it's quite rare for a teammate to mess up the game for everyone else by accident.

Make a clip or some screenshots of the WORLD serverlist at any given time. Post it.

I'm not going to post screenshots because it would take like 10 screenshots to cover the entire server list.

The Steam charts don't lie, 20k people are consistently playing the game. It's gone up over time since the game has released, obviously with spikes in population when the seasons or free weekends happen, but still overall maintaining a healthy playerbase. Finding games hasn't gotten dramatically harder.

Then we can count all active players together. I would guess a high of 250, a low of 50, And this is including all the games u can't join. The game probably offers around 10 joinable servers within 'reasonable' close-medium range at any given time...

Uh, wrong. I counted over 100 servers within a reasonable ping range when I checked the unfiltered serverlist. Then consider that this is hiding the full lobbies, which heavily outnumber the non-full lobbies, which means there might be around 500 total lobbies running at any given time. That's plenty when it comes to finding people to play with.

The take-away will not be that there are "20k active players' I guarantee you that. "20 active players" is literally the entire world of hardmode players I can tell you that firsthand...at least half of those 20 have names with characters I can't even type on this keyboard.

Stop acting as if the only people who play the game are hardcore players. YOU are the one making it hard to find lobbies for yourself, normal people can easily find servers to play on. Even *I* can quickly get assignment missions done by joining teams, and I personally only play haz 5 and up, so near the end of the playerbase bell curve.

I tried the dx9 dll trick but for me it seems that performance is all over the place. Tried a big skirmish, problem was, even at the start as I'd move the camera it'd feel jerky at times and I'd notice FPS dips. Then I did a Winter Assault ORK campaign and on the 1st mission as the first few cutscenes play during the battles I kept an eye on the FPS with the DX9 dll vs without, it was much more stable and better without it.

With it, the perf was all over the place including weird drops much lower compared to with. I also set the game to 4k res (upscaling). Worth a try though as all GPU's are different. I am also on Nvidia.

The workaround is to rush in fast and kill the Undead Blade to save Valdemar before the Undead Blade starts attacking him. When he is saved and the quest updates, he is unkillable from that point on until you see him in the last room where the armor is.
