Axis of Lint (ADG)

These are more nuanced. Most of these games failed for a myriad of reasons and not solely because of any kind of 'inclusivity' or 'wokeness'.

No one can "prove" why a game failed. You know that, so don't ask for proof. What would convince you? A written confession by the developers that this was indeed the case? A scientific paper?
What's true is that most of the studios that flaunted how "inclusive" they were ended up producing mediocre games that ended up failing. This points at flawed hiring criteria, which points at broken priorities when looking for talents.

You accept BF5 as potentially the only valid example, and yet you do this out of pure subjectivity.

At the end of the day, it is what it is - those games that the dude listed (except Jedi Survivor, I admit that's a bit shaky) had "modern" elements that at the very least caused controversy and dissatisfaction, and ended up alienating a good chunk of the original fanbase. Whether this was the root cause of their failure or not, it's impossible to say - it's not like every person who didn't buy the game gave a written reason why.

My reasoning is simple: enough points on a graph make a line. The line may not be perfect, but if it's roughly a line, there is a pattern.

Sure, but by the same token, you can't prove they failed because of the reasons you claim either. This is the problem.

You can claim that inclusivity/DEI/whatever you want is at fault, but we can look at objectively what people like in a game - usually it's whether the game is just plain any good or not and I'll say it again although it's been said many times, Baldur's Gate 3 is the best recent example of this. The game absolutely riles people up who hate 'woke' games and yet it was wildly successful. Why? Because it's a great game.

The original version before patching had one of the most obnoxious characters to grace videogames in the ever persistently horny Gale and yet people still loved it because the game was that good.

Then you look at something like Veilguard. Veilguard in no way failed because it was inclusive or 'woke', it failed because the game was terrible and I say this as someone who loves the Dragon Age franchise. I tried my hardest to like that game - I played it extensively on gamepass, but it was just plain bad.

People love talking about Veilguard when they bring up things like this - but what about Too Human, or Homefront or Kingdoms of Amalur? They weren't inclusive but all failed terribly, because they were bad.

You can find a reason to hate a game if you want, but correlation does not equal causation.
