Hitman. First game was rough around the edges, 2nd was perfected.

Probably would help it appeal to more people because throwing people into pvp games never seems to work out

It is still possible to text other players via the phone in-game. Also, players do use voice chat, but a lot of us keep it off to prevent from hot mic'ing or being bothered. On one hand, Rockstar support is getting a little break right now. On the other hand, a lot of players play games like this for the sole purpose of being a nuisance to every player they encounter; having the old chat log in the mix would be crappy. If you're trying to get someone's attention in a lobby, shoot them a text message.

You can always ignore the mean words and spam in the text chat if it hurts your feefees too much. The text message system is cancer and aids and i hate it.

Voice chat used to be enabled by default. Session wide. You'd get people joining and setting off airhorns or other things just intentionally trying to piss people off within 10 seconds of joining and then leaving right after so nobody could report them. Or 10 year olds who joined 20 seconds ago seeing how many different swear words they can utter in the next 30 seconds before leaving again, though this was far less annoying than the idiots trying to cause hearing damage.

Many of us went through those dark times and will never again enable Voice Chat in GTA. Even if you put the trolls aside, often people have movies or TV shows or other things going on in the background where they don't like talking into a mic and having it picked up, then getting yelled at by stupid people telling you to use push to talk even though you already are. They just don't understand the entire world around you doesn't stop the moment you say something and so cross talk can still happen; they just whine about it.

There will never be a time when I voluntarily enable voice chat in GTA again. Rockstar intentionally designed the game to get people to screw with each other and interfere with their ability to make money in order to sell shark cards, and all it does is end up with the vast majority of people in voice chat pissed off for some reason or another and they literally aren't worth listening to.

thats perfectly fine, the solution to that, is an ancient form of communication, that was invented at the start, in the earliest online games in existence, that is still used today. Text Chat. Hopefully Rockstar will re-discover this ancient system of communication and bring it back so we can actually, communicate.

text chat exists on legacy. you can also use a microphone, which is also an ancient form of communication

Its got nothing to do with what year it is. As if like oh the technology exists, so do it! Lol. Its a deliberate design due to the nature of the game. Youre not creating a character from scratch for you to choose their personality and gender. Its a pre existing character that youre playing the role of. You can give them a name because its an online game. People need names lol.

So many people are crying about no custom characters, but the simple reality is that you are **not** playing john gamesman, you are playing an existing character within the lore and canon.

Similar to how in dragonball xenoverse 2 the main character from the first game is canonically part of the seconds lore, and if you dont have save data from the first game theres a pre-made character that takes that spot.

True canonically we're not playing a whole bunch of Witches for example. We're playing THE witch.

yup just like how the best waifu in the last game they made is a side character in this game it is total betrayal!
