Oh, that means you'll roll 1 die, and that dice has 4,000 sides numbered 1~4,000.
So it's basically 1~4000. A really huge range of value.

Expressing it in general, XdY would just be rolling X number of dice, and each die would have Y number of sides/faces.

Something like 2d6 would mean rolling 2 six-sided dice.
Essentially that'd give a value range 2~12.

Like 8d12 would be 8~96.
64d2 would be 64~128. (I know, a die doesn't really have only 2 sides irl... guess that's more like flipping a coin)
(An even weirder example in-game would be Kizuami of Trickery's artifact weapon "Kogitsunemaru" which is a 1d1 weapon 1~1 damage!)

If it comes to comparing two things, it's usually just math.
Like, let's compare a 3d4 to a 4d3. Which one's better?
3d4 would end up with a range of 3~12.
4d3 would end up with a range of 4~12. It's got more "dice", so even if each dice is technically weaker, it's got less of a spread of value between the min/max rolls to worry about.

but now i can kinda understand the wildly random nature of it.
so actually, something like 5d30 would be ALOT better then.

Morning Macro, I pulled the trigger on that move a decade ago and don't regret it one bit. Summer's are brutal, but the other nine months are absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend you concentrate looking in some of the higher elevations though... Unless you don't mind living on the outskirts of hell. LOL Most of the summer here in AJ had afternoon temps above 110~115 (43~46c) since late may this year. It was chilly yesterday as it only got to about 105 (40c)

I love it here, but know what you're getting into. There are absolutely beautiful locations a little higher in the hills. The sands of Elsweyr are not for everyone.

Set the monitor you want games to run on as your primary monitor. Right click on your desktop, select "display settings", and click on the monitor you want games to run on. If you can't tell which monitor is which, click on "identify". Under the "multiple displays" heading, click on "make this my main display" for that monitor. Then go to the heading "scale & layout" down a bit below that, and set the "display resolution" to be the correct value for each monitor. Windows should say "(Recommended)" after the correct resolution.

You can also try exiting the Steam client. Then start it up again. Move the Steam client to the monitor you want the games to open on. Then launch your game. If you launch games from an app on your secondary monitor, I guess it could confuse Steam about what monitor you intend to use.

There are some shortcuts that may help, too. Windows key + p will let you control how Windows configures your screens. You can temporarily disable the secondary display before launching a game, then reenable it and extend your desktop. Or Windows key + shift + arrow key will send programs to another display.

Steam's Big Picture Mode was designed for running games on HDTVs I think, but it should work alright for launching games on dual monitors. I've never personally used it, but I've heard some people talk about it. If I ever wanted to start games on a different monitor, what I did was temporarily set that monitor as my primary monitor. BPM sounds like it might work for that, though.

Since this uses UE5 just like Silent Hill 2 remake, expect it to run like that or worse.

EDIT: Saw your specs. Just play this on console, won't run well for you with those low end specs. PS5 pro is roughly around RTX 4070 level minus RT and DLSS.

Demos at gamescom proved that the game run fine so If what you've said about the PC of that user then I agree they should play it on console, it ran great on the PS5.

My husband and I were discussing this when we were in the deep desert (new to deep desert) looking for spice. The chat was buzzing of bragging about unaware PVE players being slaughtered while they sit and wait and finding it so funny. So we came out of the DD and went back to safe Hagga. It does ruin the game for me that I can lose everything just farming ore/spice.

Oh heck, finally got an item, Almond Water. I basically did everything it said to do, 24/24 the kart, rammed the bot and jumped down the hole. Dunno why it didn't do it the first time around but this time when the bot died the chase music actually went away. And for both objectives it seems it chirps at you when it's satisfied with it. Dunno, gonna have to find another room.
