Companies don't want your opinions of what is likely or unlikely, they don't want your opinions of what might or might not be a consequence, they want you to provide the proof they asked for.

"Trust me bro this makes sense" does not qualify as proof for any serious company, not matter if it's a bank, gaming company, or whatever else.

And asking people to recall the serial key of a game you bought 13 years ago is akin to Target asking you to provide a receipt for the shirt you bought 13 years ago. Yes it's proof of purchase, but it's wholly unreasonable to expect people to still have that.

So I may not have been able to provide all of the information that requested, but I believe I have provided enough to verify that the account belongs to me beyond a reasonable doubt which should be enough for a video game account.

Well I'm sorry to tell you this, and I genuinely don't mean it in a mean or rude way, I want to clarify that right off the bat, but why should that be their problem? Were they supposed to know 13 years ago that you're not going to write it down or keep it somewhere for you specifically? Because forgetting and losing stuff that matters sounds absolutely like a you problem, not a random company problem.
Let me give you another example to put it in perspective, if you buy a simple toaster with a 10 year warranty and lose the receipt, is it the store's fault if they don't want to take it back or repair it even with the warranty still valid if YOU lost the receipt after 9 years? It's just a cheap toaster, nothing of importance, but they're not going to humour you without a receipt to prove you actually bought it in the vast majority of cases. That's just how companies operate

However, I do completely agree with you that what you provided should be enough to get it back, especially if the account wasn't heavily invested in. But you have to understand it's completely up to them now if they'll accept that or not, really a question of their good will at this point honestly.
Frankly, I do think you'll get it. Someone above mentioned that they sometimes just test people to see how willing they are to do the verification because thieves don't usually bother much with wasting time on such things.

It is Letterit when most people say the writing is weak clearly there is something wrong. DAV just ignores or retcons things with no explanation. Honestly why keep this up the game flopped.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll carry on without making any changes with this game but know better for when I start a new game to consider the perks at each level up. Besides the patch I also added a few mods at the start of the game including Eli Rockin Red Rocket, SKK Combat Stalkers and a mod so I have infinite carry weight and can recruit multiple companions. I wanted to keep the vanilla experience as much as possible for a first time but needed a Bag Of Holding type mod and ability to have multiple followers so I can go on long excursions with plenty of supplies. I've not bought anything significant from a merchant yet and have accumulated 28,000 caps. Like Call Of Pripyat I like to grind early on, earn a lot of money and then buy the best weapons.

At level 20 my stats are:

Strength: 10
Perception: 6
Endurance: 6
Charisma: 7
Intelligence: 10
Agility: 3
Luck: 2

I'd advise you not to level up your SPECIAL abilities past 9 using experience points until you've collected the appropriate bobblehead. Although it will show 10+ when you do, that extra plus doesn't really gain you anything worthwhile and the bobblehead would be pretty much wasted.

Unlike some earlier Fallout games, the scores will accurately go above 10 (if you retrieve the bobblehead after already buying up to 10), and you gain the extra benefits you'd expect from a higher score. For example, higher Endurance increases health, higher Agility gives more action points, and all the other usual effects.

Whether they're worthwhile is obviously a matter of opinion, but I'd personally prefer to have the higher SPECIAL score.

I got in contact with the main developer of Downfall and they were not to much help at all.
I really do not like the recent changes and would love to revert back to the patch where the Collector was still in Beta. I felt it was just downhill from there, like it became more about "balance" and with no care for fun or interesting interactions.
I for one really hated what they did to Hexaghost and the Automaton, not to mention the way they ruined the Haunted Curse.

This game has not been updated in a long time. chances are that no new content will be released. but then again you never know. the project is a solo developer working in their spare time. obviously they have not had time for it in a while.
I don't think steam will remove it, and i don't think they should. the content that is already there is pretty decent. worth the few quid you spend on it. especially during a sale.
