I too am surprised there are no mods for this game. I have had it for a while and enjoyed playing it. That is until I found Factorio, which takes all of my time now. I should start branching out and playing my other games instead of collecting them when they go on sale.

The Gemcraft series is similar for me with time investment. 100's of hours.

The genre pumped out so much half baked garbage games in the last 5-7 years that I don't blame people for having the perception that a tower defense game should only entertain for a week of game play.

There have been tower defense games with 100's and even 1000's of hours of game in them. We need more.

I'm desperately waiting for someone to take what Dungeon Defenders did and just run with that concept since the devs over there don't know what to do with anymore. Loot grind in a Tower Defense? Why yes please. A shame I know of Deathtrap as the only other game to even explore the concept.
