What day is that? You lost a bro. For me, going to 11 is end of the campaign.

I just crashed out at day 47. Something to do with a possessed Fallen Hero with a greataxe and my men fleeing for the geists and my banner not getting them back up. I had cleared various crypts before that w/o great issues.

The fight before that I also lost a man vs Brigands and went down from 13 back to 12.

I'm starting to doubt the value of 9 lives. Upto now, it either doesnt trigger or when it triggers, the bro is killed anyway

I don't have issues with money. And with micromanagement I was actually up to 100+ tools without having the Scavenger. Ammo is a bigger problem. I have 2 hybrids and a pure ranged unit and only the pure ranged unit is using throwing weapons, otherwise ammo would be a much bigger issue.

There are 14 ways to earn a new bro in Peasant Militia. The below is c/p from my spreadsheet, no idea how to format it in this forum.

Event name Event conditions Background Score Cooldown
Pirates Desert Road Fisherman 5 80

Deserter Noble war crisis, on Road Deserter 10 50

Fencing master apprentice Within 3 tiles of an allied, civilian, northern, size 2 or 3 settlement Apprentice 15 INF

Horseman On Road, northern 80% of map, daytime Vagabond 5 INF

Holy Crusader Holy War crisis, desert, 6 tiles or more from nearest settlement Crusader 10 INF

Barb volunteer Road, northern 30% of map Barbarian 5 100

Belly Dancer Daytime, road, near southern city that isn't hostile, have 750 Crowns Belly Dancer 15 INF

Deserter in Forest Daytime, in non-frozen Forest Deserter 10 200

King's Guard cripple Daytime, on road in the snow Cripple 5 INF

Labourer On Road, northern 80% of map Labourer background 7 60

Lindwurm Slayer 2000 renown, 5000 crowns, within 3 tiles of non miltary northern settlement Lindwurm Slayer 7 INF

Vagabond thief Have 50+ ammo, 10+ tools, 25+ food and 10+ medical supplies Vagabond 50 30

Cannon thief Desert Road Thief 5 INF

Melon thief Daytime within 4 tiles of an allied, civilian, northern, size 1 settlement Thief 10 INF

The by far most likely event is the nightly thief (a Vagabond) that you can catch (need to win two 75% flips or 56.25%) and has a score of 50. But you need to make sure you have enough supplies for the event to trigger.

You should keep one southern state and one size 2-3 northern settlement content with you, so you can try and get the Belly Dancer and the Apprentice. Sometimes, when an event is about to trigger, I camp on the road and hope to get lucky.

In general a game studio has in best practice several smaller teams.

- designers
- developers
- testers

Designers adding stuff like doors, windows, other blocks
Devs, adding features. Features in terms of business logic, open / close doors
Testers test the results above.

With space engineers 2, keen came close to this best practice with a good amount of man power behind it.
The designers do not have to wait for devs to release stuff, if business logic is not needed in first place.
Meanwhile the devs developing the business logic in the new engine.
Also keep in mind, those devs also are separated (water, planet teams). They work parallel and are not always depending on each other. One work on water. Others on planets and others on blocks.

So what should you do with this knowledge?
1. Stay calm. This game is an alpha, which equals more or less a tech demo. Its not a game yet. Its maybe a crwtive sandbox but missing blocks from SE1, so I would say as a tech demo its a good representation. But it's expensive. The devs told clearly, do not buy if you want a GAME. its not ready yet.

2. Since it's a tech demo, if you have it, test it. You can name missing features on the space engineers support desk.

3. Let time pass. The earliest date to play serious is in my opinion about as Christmas time. Till then, let them cook.

They obviously needed money, because the tech demo could be also a free release. But I guess money was the major point to release it at current state.
Therefore, I like the game idea. I KNOW keen delivers stuff with enough time. So I wait and enjoy creative mode.

Keen SWH is also not greedy or scammy. They also work on se1 parallel and main features of updates are always for FREE keep that in mind.

so the usual: the faulty party should get cut every slack possible while the victims are told to suck it up, stfu and feel guilty...

Simply put: The consumer always needs to pull themselves up by their bootstraps while some stupid company is the poor Kitten.

I do not know what you mean...
You act like you purchased now and have to purchase later again. I do not really get it.
Sons of the forest was the only early access title which was pretty much finished as it got released into early access.
Every other early access title is an early access...
This current state is maybe not worth 28€$ but this current state gets the features of a full game by time.
Why are you mad?
If you do not like early access, why buying early access? Just wait. Ahh there is the problem. You could not wait until 1.0 and arguing now of an alpha game...
