About your cooment, I have never had my account compromised.

I'm posting this because I frequently respond to threads from users who have experienced this. Yep. It's their fault, but I believe this scam could have been avoided.

Way back in the day in World of Warcraft there was some cape I was keeping my eye on the auction house. And the price would flucate between 260-320 gold. Not every user mistake is proof of a scam. They happen.

Also I wouldn't underestimate some users adding a zero to the price of something and hoping for an accidental purchase. Not really a scam, but I'm sure it happens because humans are fallible.

Look. I understand that the forum works this way, and everyone can sell their item for whatever they want. What I don't understand is why someone would offer 20 or 50 times more for an item that's exactly the same as another much lower price.

This isn't a choice made by a buyer who prefers yellow over green, or because the seller is better, or because it's in better condition. The item is always the same in this case.

If I'm buying an item, I automatically choose the cheapest one, and in the case of this scam, I believe it could be solved by automatically purchasing the cheaper item.

I think the original comment by OP is unfair. Just because the current endgame system isn't interesting to you, doesn't mean it's not a good or complete product for the price. I've been enjoying my initial descent into the hell system and find it's a very interesting take on blending an almost short form seasonal system into the core loop of the game to test your build making power with debuffs that you have full control over.

Currently, there's a lot of hours of playtime out of this mechanic alone. That's disregarding the tried and true world tier system that unlocks for the normal format of the game. That mix of experimental build crafting with deepening your pre-existing builds is what ARPGs are all about.

Personally disliking the existing endgame system and not giving it a proper chance isn't the fault of the devs. Not every game needs to be an endless experience, but the ones that continue to provide content for FREE should be looked up at.

The content at hand is worth the $20 paid for it, especially considering you already got 14 hours out of it. I've enjoyed Indies for higher prices and not even pulled 10 hours out of them. Using time invested as a sole metric for value is inherently unfair, and obfuscating the [beta] aspect of the endgame would not be as engaging to the player. Similarly, knowing more content is on the way doesn't mean the current state of the endgame doesn't already provide a complete product.

The devs could have released the current endgame system devoid of the [beta] attached to it and kept us blind to their intent for the future. This would have been significantly worse and evoked it's own bevy of complaints.

When I go to a newly released Indie game and see a clear roadmap with planned dates, that's one of the biggest green flags for purchasing a game. Take joy in the fact that you can come back to this game a few months down the line and have more content to enjoy for FREE.

I understand your point. I'm wondering if Mega Tsunami is fairer at higher levels—or if it also kills 50%-100% of your party. I've never had as many problems in any of my fights so far as I have with this one spell. The rest of the balancing actually seems fair to me.
By the way, I also play a Reaper—but I haven't paid attention to the effectiveness of the Inox.

Thank you Dr. Eatker, for being my spokesperson when I am too lazy to check out this page, sorry I've been missing for a while, I've been developing a Half-Life 2 mod. Redownloaded SFM today so I hope that will be the start of something. I don't have space to download all of Black Mesa again so I may do some Entropy: Zero or Half-Life 2 and Episodes ports for a little while.
