You might as well pledge to a power. There really isn't a downside, other than the fact that you become "legal" to kill by an opposing faction. But there are lots of benefits and it is a very long grind to rank up with a power.

Education is in the dumps. Critical thinking is virtually nonexistent. Most people are impoverished. There's a growing disparity between morality and legality, which gets worse and worse every four years, as politicians maneuver the institution of government further and further away from the masses and deeper into the bosom of corporations, investment groups and domestic and foreign special interest groups.

I ask you, what's the average person to do when all they know is that something is wrong, can't understand the mechanics of how and why and therefore can't troubleshoot the problem, and there's no authority to turn to?

I feel exactly the same way. It never ceases to disappoint and depress me how people only follow a chain of reasoning until they get to a link that comfortably confirms their preferences. Just look at this thread: guy A) doesn't even want to try and follow a chain. He goes straight to my profile page looking for shade to throw instead, sees the Trump profile picture, and digs in.

Murder, and people sympathizing with murderers, is just a symptom of an underlying disease degrading our society. You're pointing at the pustule and complaining about how gross it is. I'm pointing at a microscope and trying to get you to look through it and understand the bacteria that's created the pustule.

Fair enough. I was kinda surprised at your post that I commented on, to be fair.

There's lots of bad stuff going on and I agree with you on that. I don't know if we would necessarily see eye-to-eye on the specifics, but you're not wrong, as they say nowadays.
