Ok, so I have just finished playing the game in windowed mode, so it is totally possible with minimal tinkering.

There is a guide on how to make this game much better, applicable to "legacy" version, but it includes editing exe file and some other things I find too demanding.

What needs to be done:

1) Install "Public Beta" version of the game.
2) Default resolution is 1280x720 windowed.

If you set it to Fullscreen in game settings, it will always crash with an error about resolution. In other words, currently there is no way to play this game fullscreen. If your display resolution is much better, for example, FullHD (1080p, 1920x1080), you will probably want to play this game in a bigger window. It can be done by editing game's configuration file.

Go to C:\Users\USER\Documents\ArcaniA and find file named VideoSettings.xml. Open it in notepad and find the following strings:

<Attribute name="resolution_x" type="ulong" value="1260" />
<Attribute name="resolution_y" type="ulong" value="720" />

They are basically your window's resolution. Change them to a required number. I recommend 1760 and 990 for FullHD screen - it will make window slightly smaller than the screen. Don't forget to save the file.

NOTE: C:\Users\USER\Documents\ArcaniA is an example. Drive is usually C: - drive with your user profile, but it can be on other drives as well. USER - is your user profile name. It will be different for you. For example, if your profile folder is on drive D and your profile name is "Feshyr", the address will look as follows: D:\Users\Feshyr\Documents\ArcaniA

3) You can start playing but there is another issue with the game. By default it is configured to use only one processor core. To fix that, go to the folder with the game configuration files (usually Steam\steamapps\common\Arcania Gothic 4\Data\configuration). Find ProcessManager.xml and open it with the notepad.
Find the following parameter: ThreadConfig platform = "PC" cores = "1" and change "1" to the relevant number of cores your PC has. I changed it to 4.

This is how I managed to complete this game. My PC specs are Ryzen 5 3550H/20Gb/GF1650 4Gb/SSD. Average FPS was around 40 with peaks at 60 and drops to 20-25.

I finally have access to 7-9 difficulty. I am starting to finally understand the game flow with the layout system etc.

A lot of questions could be answered if the dev would add an index or manual of some sort in game.

I just did a solo run and I also saw a random scout behind a rock at the top of the tropics! They were yellow and they disappeared when I looked at the other side of the rock!

Match the Moves with Overdrive Icons.

For each turn, the Overdrive bar suggests one of the five skill types. And matching the next move with the recommended type lowers the Overheat.

Look to the top-left corner and select a skill with a matching icon.

It may sound confusing to beginner Chained Echoes players. But there is an indicator to simplify the process: The skill type that matches the Overdrive suggestion turns yellow.

Pretty sure Laharl knows what the abilities turning yellow signifies, they're asking how which abilities turn yellow is determined. There are also six skill types that can be picked from, not sure where 5 comes from. Physical, magic, buff, debuff, utility, healing
