It's pretty obvious that something is extremely broken and missing, let's hope it's really only some missing (or corrupt) game files.

Hi — my name’s Pablo and I’m addicted to permadeath mode. I can’t play in any other mode anymore. For almost half a year I haven’t ♥♥♥♥♥♥ past level 15–16 because I keep getting carried away and diving into dungeons I shouldn’t. When that happens I curse the whole universe and promise I’ll never play this damn game in realistic mode again. But ten days later I’m back at it... If I try normal mode, it doesn’t feel fun — so I delete the character and switch back to permadeath. I can’t stop. I need help.

P.S. What a well-made game, damn it.

Yeah I feel both of those too, add more but break more too, and if it's like the current NPC spawns perhaps it's not going to be that great afterall, I still try to remain hopeful but I have come to expect the worst, I mean it's been over a month since a tiny hotfix and it's now 1.0 where we were led to believe that things will really start to improve, how is anyone suppose to expect much, it's a pretty sad situation for an otherwise good game.
