Ok so I am back after a long break from Stellaris and look the game has changed again...aggghhh.

Well this is only the 4th or 5th major change since release...sigh.

So I started a game as a Hive Mind and din't get far before I had to watch some youtube videos to understand this game again. I have to say I was annoyed in the start but now after playing some days I kind of love it.

While playing I started to ask ChatGPT a few questions and it was very helpfull, It even asked for screenshots from game to better advice me.

Anyway the fun comments from chatgpt is what blew me away. I was going to become the crisis and one of the Fallen Empires told me to stop waging war for 20 years, so I did. I was not ready and what did they do after 20 years.....yes the Giants awaken. I told chatgpt and it had this comment:

Exactly - that "Thank you for keeping the peace" is peak Fallen Empire passive-aggression. Translated : "Thanks for sitting still while we prepare to awaken and crush you, filth.

I did ok. I reached 1.4 mill fleet strength and chatgpt said this :

You're doing everything right - defending scaling and reading the AI's intent.

That "Thank you for not waging war" is going to age pooly for them once your 1.4 mill fleet strength shows up on their doorstep.

Anyway just wanted to share. Not using chatgpt so much but it can be very helpful at times

Horribly rubberbanding servers, ego-tripping head producer, poorly balanced risk-reward factor, the awfully designed level geometry that has frequent holes and spots that get you stuck, and not a single charming event to draw in new players- All of these exist and are glaring problems. But yes, go off, launch an event that only those very few who were patient enough to grind to the end of all the quests can participate.

Gotta love the report abuse claims when report abuse is pointless on Steam. All it takes is a single report and a moderator that agrees with it.

Without Irvings dodge of 22, the hit chance would be 106, so the range his dodge applies for dodge effects is on rolls between 84-106 (effectively 100 cap). So if he has an effect that applied on Dodge it would need to be in that range.

Are mobs not capped at 95% hit chance?

I believe the distance/adjacent enemy miss chance applies to any skill with the "Ranged" tag. As far as mobs cap on hit...I really don't know for sure if it's 95% or 100%

Fwiw, keep in mind we're in the very very veeeery early stages so devs are still busy getting the basics polished before more involved mechanics and abilities get put in.
You got some fun ideas in there, though! Love the sticking to walls idea. Some cards - if you get them - already allow stuff like improved jump and tongue attacks and maneuvers. I bet there's more of that in store along the way.

And yet that's not a solution. I could certainly spray vegecide on my lawn instead of mowing but it would be foolish to call that a solution.

Why do you recommend deleting something that isn't intended to be deleted?

To be honest.. temp files in windows arent meant to be deleted either. And you still have to do it time by time. The cache in youre internet browser isnt meant to be deleted either.. and you still have to do it if it causes problems. Well your hand or fingers arent meant to break either... and guess what.. it happens sometimes.

And i bet this issue is steam or nvidia related issue and not specificaly this game.

Many steamgames today that have to compile shaders to work get shader compiling issues after graphical updates/engine chsnges... guess what the issue here probably is? Yes its the cache like in your Webbrowser.

Until then .. have fun complaining and not playing the game.

I don't use Windows, so i don't suffer from the ill effects of poor choice in operating environment.

This issue isn't steam though. Valve provides a way for games to release precompiled shaders. This game isn't using that until they are done with development. Ie, the problem is with this game, but it's likely to be fixed in the future. Telling users to go delete a directory that's unrelated to the problem hardly seems like a valuable use of their time.

There are a couple of PTS's I've seen behind locked doors. At least one that I know of becomes accessible much later in the game. Might be tied to the others I've seen, might not. Dunno yet, not that far.
