No. Dead Hard's balancing is a fickle thing. Right now it's janky, but if you buff it just a liiiiittle too much, it can easily become an overpowered crutch perk again. I'd rather they leave it as is.

To be absolutely fair, she's only the default for the death route if you do absolutely nothing, which I think is a) more of a failsafe than anything, and b) does make sense given she's the reason you're dead. Since the only way that 'default' happens is if you do zero affection interactions with anyone, other than her single mandatory one. Given, IIRC, it's based on the highest affection, with ties broken by whoever you gained affection with most recently. So I don't mind that specific edge case being filled by "the person from your past life and also who knew you from childhood," given you've had to pretty much deliberately avoid fostering a relationship with anyone[/].

Definitely upgrade your scythe to at least copper! In the mines the first 20 levels in particular have a bunch of weeds you can cut and with a copper scythe I end up getting a lady bug at least every other weed. I also had a lot of issues with bug supply until I figured out that even just upgrading to copper was pretty epic. Also whenever there are weeds that pop up around town/other zones I always cut those with the copper scythe and it's been netting me a bunch of bugs.
