First of all, let me just say this:
I’ve been waiting years for a true spiritual successor to Battlefield 3 and 4. I was genuinely hyped for this open beta. I haven’t touched any Battlefield since BF4. I’m starving for a proper modern-day Battlefield experience.

I preloaded the game on Steam, eager just to boot it up and maybe mess around with the settings or check out the weapons. But instead, I was greeted with a message saying I need to enable Secure Boot.
Alright… fine.

After a bit of digging, I found out that not only do I need to enable Secure Boot, but I also need to switch my system from MBR to GPT.

Can I do it? Yes.
Is it hard for me? No, not really.
But is it a nuisance? Especially when there's a real risk I might mess up my system or make it unstable? Absolutely.

And the real question is: Why?
Why do I need to change my BIOS and OS configuration just to play an official game? Not a modded version. Not a private server.
Why would any developer require this level of system change from players? Especially when the anti-cheat reasoning doesn’t even hold water? Secure Boot isn’t some silver bullet that stops cheaters. It’s not going to prevent the same problems we’ve seen plague other titles.

So again, why? Why make it harder for the actual, legitimate players to play your game?

Custom AI - All ascended characters.. some custom made to be much stronger than usual with extra traits and such.

New fated realms thing
Dormant seals - sometimes.


While I put 9 AI in, with the custom difficulty I usually don't need to face nine of them. They usually take a few of each other out. Especially if chosen destroyers are on the map.

Cool. With the game released in May 2023, you could have played at least 2 or 3 of those matches by now. :P
