There is a sub set of people on here who report your post if you have opposing views, and you do get warnings for some rather silly things. Best not to get too emotional in your posting and try to keep the topic on the rails. On that note, not much point in being doom n gloom. Either the game devs adapt and get content out or they don't.

As I said, unlike games like their previous titles including conan, they do not have the fan base/modding community to aid them in delivering content currently, so they have to do more to keep the population entertained or have better loops that want to keep people coming back.

I got a 2 week ban for "insulting someones mental health", I think I called someone crazy.

This game is going to fail not because of a lack of modding or fanbase, IMO but because Funcom is making a game for the 200 people on reddit who glaze them and are terrified of PVP. They don't respond here, where they can know the people posting are actual players and such, but they are all over reddit.

Honestly I'm just afraid to start new games because it represents a huge mental investment. It is a lot easier to just keep playing the same games ad nauseum even if they're crap.... because at least it is familiar crap.

Honestly... nothing really in particular.
I have an xbox series S and had gamepass until recently and that was my main gaming platform for "nice looking games". But I decided to part ways with that due to the recent price hike. I used PC for lower end games and it's just fine.

The 2 games I play firmly right now on PC:
Rimworld and Fallout 4. Rimworld is getting a bit slow with the new DLC, so hence the new CPU. The GPU is to freshen up the system. Obviously Fallout 4 is 10 years old but should be smoother now...lol. Honestly, runs just fine with the current setup (need to turn off some little graphics things, but nothing major). Kiddo plays Sims 4 and Roblox... lol.

As for new games, I think the only one I can think of is Expedition 33, if I find a nice deal for it. From the specs I probably won't be able to play with full graphics, but that is fine. I have a bunch of the Metro and Saints Row games (got some of those ridiculous cheap saless) and from there... I will play whatever goes. Maybe mod the hell out of State of Decay 2 and have another go at it.

I'm still waiting for Cities Skylines 2 to be decent.... as in never, but loved the first one.

Honestly I went for the "price". I had a lower goal but after some back and forth I decided up the budget the upgrade and choose what I thought gave me the best performance for that money. I think I will be very well served with the RTX 5060 + Ryzen 7 5700X. Anyway, it's ordered now so no turning back :D
I will be able to play a lot more than before. If some games I can't play... well. You can't have everything.

I think it's more that we're living in an age of gaming where there are REALLY good RPGs available right now. Like 'really' good RPGs. BG3, Kingdom Come, Ex33, etc.

Then this game comes along, supposedly a sequel to a cult classic RPG from many years ago, and basically all the "rpg stuff" is gone. The open world (gone), real choice (gone, the story is linear), character creation (just hair and gender, no deciding background or anything like that), etc.., and people are rightly upset.

Maybe 10 years ago this game would have passed muster, but today the competition in this genre is pretty stiff and it just doesn't hold up.

Ehm. Guys (m/f) calm down, in fact I love art. AI can't do what Alphonse Mucha, Lalique, the Impressionist painters, Debussy, need I go on? can do.

Maybe I should have been clearer: I really don't mind using AI for the background music of a trailer for a small update in an Indie game. There's a place for it, and that place is not to replace human expression.

Maybe it can an should replace artists like the guy who taped a banana to the wall and sold it for 6 million to someone with more money than sense.
