I don't see the point in singling out one person as the source of all problems at Arrowhead when pretty much everyone who's spoken publicly has talked arse at one point or another. There was the one dev who talked about primary weapons being intentionally bad, there was another dev who talked about intentionally trolling players who didn't like the changes, the discord mod who got fired for causing a reviewbomb.

And no, Yohan Pilestedt is no exception. He's a good communicator in general, but he's talked some of the worst arse of all. The "apple that tastes like bacon" comment comes from him, after all. Plus, he talked about being responsible for most of the systems in the original Helldivers, which is... Not a good thing, considering the multitude of fundamental design issues that game had, many of which were carried over into Helldivers 2.

The sad reality is that Arrowhead as a whole is a clownshow. Helldivers 2 was successful by accident, and remained successful despite their best efforts to fix that. The only reason that the game is in a decent state right now is because Arrowhead got dragged kicking and screaming into some semblance of good design - only for them to immediately revert to their old way as soon as we looked the other way around. The only way decent changes happen to this game is when the community literally bullies the developers into good sense.

I don't know what's going on. I don't know if Arrowhead are ACTUALLY bad at making video games, or if there's some unseen force compelling them into making bad decisions that they then have to lie in order to justify. Either way, dealing with them is like dealing with a poor student. You can guide them through a problem and it seems like they actually understand... then proceed to make the exact same mistakes the moment you let them work out a problem on their own.

I played Zero, 3 and Drift 2 all 100%. Zero was the best for me. Just the right amount of content.

For me, delaying the first escalation by 3/4 turns is useful in most missions, but you do you.

Hey, devs! Pla, add Nightbreed connection. Even as short DLC level. Hellraiser & Nightbreed already was in comics together. Or even Harry D'amour references. Barker created great Universe with theese characters and if it seems that we never got it or any movie with them, so it would be great to add them into this game.
