Game crashed and stuck as background process

The same thing happened to me!

The game froze for about 1.5 minutes, and then a UE Crash window appeared. I submitted the crash report.

I constantly monitor system performance, and I noticed that even after the game crashed, over 23 GB of RAM out of 32 GB was still in use.
I opened Task Manager and saw the Marvel Rivals process still running, even though it had crashed — and I couldn't end it manually, no matter how many times I tried.

The most surprising part is that I shut down my PC, and a few hours later, after turning it back on, the process was still present in memory! Only a full system reboot helped.

I believe this might be related to the anti-cheat system or other hidden processes, because Task Manager showed about 5.5 GB of usage, but when the game was running — even just sitting in the main menu — memory usage jumped to over 20 GB. After rebooting, my OS uses only about 7.5 GB.

The developers really need to investigate the code for potential memory leaks.

My system specs:
RTX 4070
GeForce Game Ready 580.88 WHQL
Intel Core i5-14600KF
32 GB RAM

Many have left. It's a shame. Wilds is even currently selling worse than the 2019 remake of RE2. Who would have guessed that before playing the betas!
