How come magic is so OP compared to other playstyles?
Lol I feel like you purposely posted this after my post but agree to disagree and I'll humor you and be a part of the discussion.

So what do you struggle with as melee and archer? I've played both styles just so you know. Do you struggle with running out of mana? Oh wait, you don't need mana like mages do. Do you struggle with fighting enemies upclose? Oh wait, you got medium and heavy armor to tank hits. Do you struggle because you aren't doing critical hits every hit? Oh wait, can magic not crit?

I've done melee only builds and I truly don't see the struggle people say they have. Maybe I need to play it again and see if the game has changed to make melee weaker? When I played melee build, each hit I do chunks enemies for like 20-40 damage per hit early game while magic does like what 6? 8?

Personally, I always do a mix of both so have either magic or arrows and then have melee for when enemies are in your face. My current run, I'm going dual wielding swords as a mage with zero skills in dual wielding or swords yet and my swords do more damage per turn than my spells. But yeah spells you do have the ability to kite. Before, I've also gone bow builds and then when the enemy catches up to me because I made a mistake in creating distance, I just defeat them with my melee weapons anyway with no skills unlocked yet in swords or dual wield. What's the struggle of melee really? Getting kited by ranged enemies? Don't melee builds have dash abilities to close the gap? Most enemies you fight are typically melee with one or two ranged enemies in the back. I do know, if I went magic only, I would probably get destroyed when enemies get in my face and my impulse spell is on cooldown as electromancer. And having arrows or magic helps wittle down enemies before they reach you and helps you win being outnumbered when they eventually reach you in melee.

When I played electro only, the first projectile spell alone is kinda meh, but I will admit impulse is definitely overpowered so I will not deny that. I played pyro and it seems kinda ridiculous when it comes to damage output compared to electro. The first spell is 3 projectiles in one turn and you also have potential to put a damage over time on enemies with fire if they go burning. Geo I think has some crazy crowd control and damage? But I've never gave it a try.
