Byzantine Faction Concept (Dlc)

I didn't say that there were no factions historically speaking. Of course, there were several players during the Crusades, but there are no factions in the Stronghold saga.

In the original game, which takes place in England, you only play Europeans. In the Crusader version, they added Arabs because the context obviously requires it.

In this expansion pack, they added a second Arab faction (Bedouins), although it wasn't necessary. To be honest, I suspect it was just to sell their game, given its quality.

If you really want an RTS with multiple factions, there are plenty of other licenses available, such as Age of Empires or War Selection, but not Stronghold. That's not its essence, and that's fine.
Congratulations, your rhetoric here suggests that you wish Stronghold would never succeed again, that it would never evolve.

If you don't want any other factions in Crusader, you don't have to buy the DLC or play for it, and you don't have to be selfish.

I agree that the whole Bedouin faction was unnecessary. At the end of the day, Bedouins are also Arabs, so instead of making a separate faction, Firefly could have just added 2–3 valuable units to the mercenary post (like the Demolisher, Camel Lancer, or Skirmisher) while also balancing existing ones — for example, making Arabian Swordsmen able to tank 7–8 crossbow shots. Additional units like the Ranger could have been added to the barracks, and buildings like the Apothecary could be used to recruit healers. This would have been a much better fit than creating a redundant faction.

I actually raised this point with Firefly back on the first demo release, but they didn’t seem to care about the redundancy of factions and units, and kept pushing the Bedouin faction anyway. What bothers me most is that by introducing Bedouins, many Arabian units — and the AIs who use them — have become irrelevant. Firefly decided not to let the existing Arabian AIs use these new units, but instead gave them to new Crusader AIs, which feels completely out of place and makes no sense.
Thank those people who cried that the old AI shouldn't be used by Bedouins.
